Choose your preferred weapon...for a high milage GSR transmission (100k), that will take a beating

I got GM Synchromesh friction modified for about $5/qt thru my friend at a dealer.

If you want it for alot cheaper than dealer price, use the Pennzoil Synchromesh sold at AutoZone and other auto parts stores. It runs about $4/qt I think.

yup...what Muckman said.

it's a whole lot cheaper if you buy Pennzoil Syncromesh which is what GM Syncromesh is without the GM badge. i got like 12 quarts of this stuff for like $3.75 each at autozone.

I went to an acura dealer the other day, and the service/parts guy just condescendingly said, "stop banging on your gears". I told him, "you didn't answer my question". He replied, "no we don't have anything like that".

Then i went looking for the pennzoil syncromesh, but no luck there either.....went to pep boys, auto zone, R&S Strauss

anyone know a place in ny I can get this stuff.........I'm going to try a gm dealer tomorrow.

I use honda mtf...had used redline in the past. I actually didn't like it all. Grinds went away when changing back to mtf. I refuse to use GM's.

Is that because it's a heavier weight, and it makes things seem like they are ok for a little while?
