Default Just got my LSVTEC Done Yesterday!!!!

Saturday at 3:00pm we started on my LSVTEC. My brother and a good friend of ours got the car running on Sunday at 8:00pm. No check engine lights nor problems. The only thing wrong/improper is the Vtec Wiring due to no vtec pressure plug.

Will show pics later on today!! a b18b bottom block with a jdm b16a head, delsol im, gsr dizzy, ls fuel rails with fpr, stock cam gears...

Pulls way better than an LS. Also I have GSR cams so its a lil better, I hope. My brother have and LSVTEC also and pulls hard!

Running on stock internals in a TEG. PICS UP LATE TODAY!

I recommend building up your bottom end.

Well, rip your block apart, replace all your bearings, micropolish your crank, install ARP rod bolts, resize rods, balance your rotating assembly.

I would consider that a minimum amount of work to obtain a "reliable" ls vtec bottom end.

ARP headstuds are your friends. For more power build the head, and for more reliablity build the bottom end NOW lol. sorry ive just seen too many lsvtecs screw up becasue of improper build.

Yeah Im looking to do the same but how does the head fit on there, like does it run good cuz isn't that a OBD-0 head? Did u have to hook up all the sensors is what my question is. I dont want to run into any toubles mixing the differnt types if u get what I'm saying

very nice! run it like that for a few weeks and double check everyday for leaks. run it hard a few times and check for leaks around the headgasket area. just my .02 cents.

I'm not too familiar with these hook ups, but I was told to buy the Del Sol Intake Manifold because it has all the sensor plugs(not sure) vaccum hose plugs that the JDM B16 doesnt have. The Distributor is the one that makes the difference , I think. Its actually how you do the wiring.

I am not very familiar with the LS Vtec. All the wires/sensors were plugged. My bros buddie Vinnie Moua helped do this swap. One time process. Everything went smooth.
It also runs great. I can feel the power compared to my ls head.

Thanks for the heads up!

keep the oil flowing. Thats the main problem with the ls/vtec's.

Drove to roseville today with a aftermarket intake. The vtec is loud as f$%K. Thanks for all the feedback.

Because usually when people do it they think that the LS water/oil pumps have enough pressure to throw it all through, which is wrong. You can run for about 8-10 months on them, until your going to need GSR or anything VTEC pumps..

wrong...maybe that is true for oil pump but not water pump. The ls one works good. Maybe not as good as gsr or b16 but still does the job.

trust me dude, weve done tuns of tests on these things and I can tell you straight up an LS waterpump will decrese the life of your ls/vtec/b20vtec.

If your running stock ls water or oil, or both.

I would suggest upgrading them to atleast GSR, your going ot need to after a while neways, so do it sooner then later..

aight, well i would run the b16 water and oil pump.. cuz yeah.. its better for those high rpms. the ls water pump is geared for lower rpm useage. at 8k or so it will cavitate water. its kinda like having your car in first gear or your car in second gear. there's only so much speed that 1st gear can handle. remember to use a gs-r timing belt if you use the vtec water pump.

i also strongly reccomend you replace your rod and main bearings with ones from a b16 at least. ls bearings are bi-metal, vtecs are tri-metal. also use arp rod bolts to hold it together down there. gotta shotpeen the rods afterwards and resize the big end afterwards. lotta ls vtecs will suffer from a spun rod bearing. these are just steps to give you more reliability.

thats really it. but if your gonna pull your bearings.. might as well redo your pistons too. get some pr3's.
