Here’s the new Zen Autoworks ITC Civic. This car has four races on it and already has quite a history.

Race 1 = DNF
Race 2 = Win
Race 3 = Mid-Ohio Lap Record
Race 4 = ARRC Win



Oh, and it’s a rental car next year. Zen will also have a sister car to my ITA car above for rent as well.

roll coupled weight transfer.

Simplely, enough weight has transfer to the LF, LR, and RF to unload the RR tire.
But also nuderstand you are under braking at that point on the Keyhole at Mid Ohio. That unloads the rear even more!

BTW Thanks to Todd Reid for the rides. I hope to enter a PCA school soon!

 

In order to get a CRX to oversteer, you have to add a lot of rear roll stiffness. Because of that, in some corners, you end up lifting the inside rear wheel.

 

Am I the only one that noticed that Yanni is driving the red Civic? Heh heh.

 

No. I noticed the last time the pic was posted. Am I the only one who noticed that his front left tire is gone?

Man my car is ugly! Some of you guys have really nice looking cars (this post & a couple recent ones)! I might have to get a paint job & some graphics......Nah! I just need to learn how to drive better/faster.

That incident actually happened at the beginning of our race. We were running w/ US Touring Car, but they staggered their start 30 seconds ahead of us.

From what I heard, the Civic completely blew the braking zone, got up on two wheels (a seen in the pic) and came down on the right rear quarter panel of the Subaru.

It seems that the Civic wasn't having a good weekend, as depicted in the pic below, taken in our qualifying race.

Hope to see you at some Honda Challenge races. You guys might want to promote those rentals here well in advance of any races you come to. You just might get a few takers.

 

I didn't know what the rules were for promoting business stuff like that... they'll have details on the website (http://www.ZenAutoworks.com) in the next couple of days.

We also have our tentative 2002 race schedule up... it's going to be a busy summer! Four trips to Atlanta. Other trips to Mid-Ohio, Road America, Watkins Glen, Summit, Gingerman, Nelson Ledges and Grattan. We're hoping to make at least one Honda-Challenge event too. My vote is the night race at Lowes!
