I've heard of people heating the springs instead of cutting them. I knew a guy with a Golf and he used a torch on his springs. The intense heat weakens the spring for a bit, then he clamped a couple layers together and when it cooled, the spring was shorter. It was soooooooo ghetto.

You say your cutting them using stock GSR's until you get your Tanabe shocks/struts? or are you also getting springs? Why not just wait. Don't cut your springs especially if your unsure how much to cut. When you cut your springs you count the rings on the coil not the inches. Either way DON'T do it. Your car's going to be sitting on the floor and next thing you know it you have a cracked oil pan or transmission housing.............

Whatever you do, don't cut your springs. Just wait. It's not a crime to be with a wheel gap. Besides you're going to feel like an idiot when your riding around town with blown shocks, and a car for a pogo stick. Take my advise, WAIT, and do it right. Driving with a messed up suspension is not only stupid, it's also very dangerous.

u dont need to cut springs to drop yur car, just go and buy some bags of cement and put them in yur car, they are fully adjustable.... more bags= lower, less bags=higher. hahaha

man just learn to be patient, dont be stupid
