Painted HX Rims with Polished Lip/ Red+Black Center Cap - 56k??
The Goods
-T90 Universal Black (M) (Metallic)
-DSGM AUTUMN MAPLE (M) Metallic)
-1502 Clear Coat
All purchased at AutozoneŽ
Here is how the rims were after i cleaned and stripped them. Make sure you clean them real good otherwise your paint won't stick/dry like it should. Take your time and do it right the first time.. I taped the portion of the rim that i wanted to remain polished.
Here is what the rims looked like after 4 coats of the Black Metallic spray. Still with the tape on because of the clear coat needing to be applied.
This is after the rim was clear coated with 4 coats of clear. Don't ask me about the coats, I just did what i felt comfortable with..
Next i did the center caps...
I first sprayed the center caps with the black metallic spray. Then I taped the H portion of the center cap off so i could spray it red.
Here is the H sprayed with 2 coats of metallic red.
Here is the same center cap, with three coats of clear coat.
Here is the finished center cap.
And finally the center cap on the rim.
My camera does not really show the metallic flakes well at all.. I'm really happy with the job. It took about 6hrs to do it right... cleaning the wheels and everything.
If you have any questions, feel free to post.
kenny.

i think you did a good job .. but i just dont think that wheels under 16's or even 17's should be dark in the center and have a polished lip.. just makes them look smaller then they really are.. great job on the color combo!!
