Please help! My body shop can’t match the color of my Milano Red ITR…
My car got hit by a taxi when I was parked for the night at a street here in Stockholm, nothing big but the car got some scratches and a small dent on the front left side.
Both the bumper and the fender need a new paintjob and some repairs.
Anyway, my question is: I just got a call from the body shop and they told me that they couldn’t get the new paint to match the old, they have the code for Milano Red and they’ve been trying to blend the color to match.
The problem is that they can’t get it dark enough. Seems a bit strange since the old paint (from the factory) is three and a half years old now and should have faded some compared to the new…
Does anyone (perhaps some Aussies since you guys also have the Milano Red ITR, or some other Milano Red Honda owners) have a clue why it’s so hard to match?
(The body shop is very respected and they paint both Ferraris and Porsches and other exotic cars there, so I really can't blame them for being unexperienced)
And for those who cares: Another taxi driver saw what the driver did and left me a note, thanks to that I don’t have to pay anything for this, the dumb *** taxi drivers insurance company will pay. (And hopefully he will lose his license since he just took off!!)
Any comments you got on the paint job problem would be greatly appreciated!

Milano red is NOT hard to match. Like you said, is it possible that your paint hasn't been taken care of very well and it has faded or darkened over the years? Regardless of what, tell them to take time to get it matched. Any "professional" shop shouldn't have problems matching paints.
Thanks for your reply,
but after looking around on the Internet I found something...
When I searched for: NSX milano red, (on http://www.google.com) one link was this:
integra.vtec.net/tips/detailing.html
with the description:
Integra Detailing Tips
... a clearcoat finish. Strangely, the color "Milano Red" or R81 uses a different ... two
results in a deep red color. Other Honda paints that ... can be found on the NSX. ...
Seems that I might be able to find the solution there!
The problem is now that I can't get the site to open... is anyone else able to open it? Could you then please post what it says there, or perhaps mail me the info at:

Thank you
