i dont think it does **** for wheel hop. i would get it only for clearance.

a stock xmember with urethane radius arm bushings would be just fine.

Then, why don't you get the Place Racing for clearance and use Urethane radius arm bushing with it to help against the wheel hop.

I have one, and it does actually help with wheel hop, not a whole lot, but it does. MUCH better clearance, AND a bigger radiator can be installed.

FYI, first time around I simply hammered my crossmember to fit an aftermarket header...handling was unpredictable. It seemed like the front wheels were always tracking for grooves on the road, especially at high speeds...(very unsafe). Couple of months later, replaced em with PlaceRacing crossmember...handling improved considerably and fitment was perfect...about 6 months later, handling and wheelhop became worse, inspected the crossmember and found cracks where the radius rods go in. Had it welded and strengthened, been using it for at least 6 months with no problems...

so Place doesn't have any kind of warranty on their x-members? does any of the companies that make them provide any kind of warranty?

Yes they do, they have lifetime warranty. When I had mine and it almost killed me when it broke, I took it back and they gave me a new one. I then turned around and sold that piece of junk.

Yes, it was a Place Racing cross member, back then I didn't have a digicam so I didn't take pics of where the crossmember broke. The part where it broke was where the radius arms go into, it completely broke off right when I was gonna merge onto the freeway!! Good thing it happened then and not when I was doing 65mph or I probably would have swerved through all lanes and hit some cars or the median.

damn. yeah good thing. Place would of had a major suit on there hands if that happened while you were cruising at 65. hmm I plan on getting a x-member down the road but I hear all these negative things about them

Well not exactly, since the product is stamped "for off-road use only".

so the "lifetime warranty" is only for defects in the construction huh? thats makes sense. leaves them out of the liability game. (LAWSUITS)

Plus, if you live in another state or a few hundred miles away from Los Angeles...it may take you weeks to get your crossmember replaced. Reason why I opted to simply get it welded myself...If I were to do it again, I would've researched more and got me something else.

Yeah that's true. It took me a while to get mine even when I lived 25 mins away. Good thing the crx wasn't my only car cause I had gotten rid of my stock crossmember.
