Not if it's setup right.

I've heard nothing but good things about the T3 super 60...

A lot of d series guys are running this turbo and love it!

There are faster spooling turbos for autocross (T25, 14b, etc.) but most people that have them wish they had a T3.

That is complete hogswallup.

I haven't needed any luck at all to compete for the last 2 autox seasons in my turbocharged (and daily driven) civic. I rely on brains and tuning.

Like...when will it spool on the little d?

Anyone with this combo post up your impressions!

I have a t3 .60/.48 on my 1.6. The turbo is great if you want to flow good cfm's uptop and have nearly no lag. However, I have found that even though this turbo spools up nicely at 3,000 rpm when given full throttle, I'm a little dissapointed in that it creates next to no boost untill you are about atleast 40% throttle. Any normal type of inner city driving where your not trying to show off or have a little fun will not make this turbo build boost above 1 psi. This is my experience with the turbo on a 1.6. Other people may have different thigns to say.

Doesn't sound like a promising combo if you're building primarily for autox. For one thing, about 230 whp is the absolute max a lightweight FWD can make use of on an autox course. IMO the perfect turbo for this would be a GT28RS (disco potato). Max HP in the 300 range, instant spool, and loads of torque below 4000 rpm's.

But since we're not all made of $$$, I think a t25 or 14b is just fine too. So many people "poo poo" T25's on this board, but the majority are really not correct in their ASSumption that the turbo is too small. Usually there is another factor that causes them to "fall flat" at 5500 rpm's. Like ghetto-fabulous HX manifolds with crappy adapter plates, and radiator hose intercooler pipes for example. If someone has a t25, and they're not into the 13's on street tires, it sure isn't the turbo's fault.

Im runnin with the super 60 on my b18b....hits full boost anywhere from 3300-3600. Holds up to redline. Its a fairly good sized turbo that I think gets the job done...I can still hit boost without WOT

have you thought about a t3 50 trim .42/.48? i think that is probably better for you, if you want quick spool

i want something that will max out at around 300 hp with a good spool i am only going for 200whp right now but if in the future i do build i will be looking for the 300whp range...i still havent been able to figure out compressor maps even with the fifty how-to's i have read lol also i cant even find a place to buy one other than turbocalculator.com and those are rebuilt...i was also suggested to get a t3/t04e 50trim but i just think that is over kill and why waste the extra potential when i could be using it for ultra quick spool...i really just want to spool in the 3k range and hit 200-300whp sorry so long

Doubtful. I've yet to be shown one Super 60 installed on a Honda, but I see a lot of OEM .60 trim T3 being misrepresented as Super 60.

I'd be surprised if there were more than 5 Hondas in the entire USA with a Super 60...

That turbo will spool no faster than .48/.60 60 trim T3.

Like J.Davis said, it's amazing that his really rare Super 60 is suddenly showing up in so many places. A lot of scammers have taken advantage of the "Super 60" name and misrepresented their products.

The difference in the 60 trim and Super 60 trim isn't worth the difference in price, IMO. Get the 60 trim and beware of anyone advertising their "Super 60".

If the 60 trim compressor isn't enough for you (and it should be...don't forget the potent GT28R and GT28RS turbos have 60 trim T3 compressor), get a T3/T04E hybrid.
