I am getting suspension for my 93ex coupe and was wdonering if KYB AGX struts all around with dropzone springs (2.5" drop in front, 2.25" in rear) would make for a good ride? I know the agx struts are pretty good, its the springs im wondering about. Oh, and I dont have too much cash for springs either...
Thanks for any advice

well, you ride will "look good" but it wont "ride good". I know you said your tight on funds but i know you wouldnt want to waste your money on a shitty setup. The koni yellow/ground control with cutsom spring rate setup is highy praised aound here for good reason, it is a very very nice setup. If you look around, you may be able to find some used konis or ground gontrols and that will save you some $'s.

you dont think the kyb agx's are quality struts? I had heard some good things on here about them. I know dropzone are shitty springs, myabe i should get eibach or something instead of them, but i was under the impression kyb agx were pretty decent..

I picked up used GCs and Konis for $450
KYBs are good, they just aren't made for anything over like ~1.5" drop...at least that's what I read. Try the AGXs with Eibach Pro-Kits.

We have AGX's and GC coilovers on our 99 SI. Its a wonderful stock like ride. Its super smooth not harsh or bouncy at all.
The AGX's arnt very stiff, even at the stiffest setting unlike the Koni's or other suspension.
But if your looking for a nice riding "sport" suspension its hard to pass up that combo.
liam
I'd save up some money and go for Tein SuperStreet or Flex.
It's expensive, I know. But your car won't just look good, but also drive like a bat out of hell!
I'm also getting Tein SS. I live in Europe, so it costs me double!

I have had the AGXs w/ H&R sport sprongs on my hatch for over a year and have no complaints. It's a decent combo for street driving. Unless you need adjustability or just really want coilovers I would go with a set of H&R springs. Either the sport or race sets.

I haven't seen any threads/info that make me think Tein is any better than any other suspension.

dropzone is horrible.
agx are just fine your just gona be doing street driving, i had agx real low for a real long time, they never blew and still work right now. that bullshit about the lowest setting is just some bullshit for warenty, and to save them against dumb asses.
if your just going to be doing street driving and myabe some driving events agx are great.
look for a better quality spirng eibach are some of the best. tein springs suck ***, so do skunk2's.
H&R are ok, neuspeed are ok.
if you check the classifieds you should be able to find a set of used GC's for around 100-150 bucks, some times beedoublejay even puts up blem kits.

don't go with dropzone. they sag too much after awhile and are often uneven when settling. they are cheap and of poor quality. go with h&r springs or eibach.
TEIN springs are progressive and are very affordable. At least they are for my 240. They are only around 120 on ebay and dropzones are just as much. You have the right shocks in mind, but u CAN get name brand springs for not that much. There out there, don't cheap out on crap, cheap out on good stuff. heh.

All GC use eibach springs.
All GC use eibach springs.
