am i the only person that uses rear speakers only?
for a while now ive had no front stage and i don't really miss it, i just can't listen to it loud with the front deafening me
im thinking of just using 4 4 inch speakes in stock locations just for 'fill'
am i the only person that has to have a rear stage that is louder than front?

Thats cool if it's what you like.
You could always have some front speakers and turn them down so they don't deafen you, it will sound better too.
Do you sit with your back to your home stereo?

I have no rear speakers in the car or in the house and i have no intentions of having any for the car ever. The house will have rear speakers eventually but only when i'm playing a multichannel source.

You should hear a SQ car with a good EQ setup. With a pro level EQ, you can tune out that harshness in the upper frequency ranges.
Some tweeters are also designed to limit that harsh sound, like silk dome tweeters and the like.

or even the metal dome tweeters installed off axis can have similar characteristics.

although my pictures have not been updated - i'm finalizing my install and spending quite the number of hours tuning.
Front stage consits of -*STOCK*- (GASP!) Integra components, mated to 24db/octave link-reily crossovers and some other custom tuned goodies.
With the speakers in a kickpanel and properly crossed and semi-tuned i'm already getting an image that is wide, and sounds at the level of the stock Clock - with the voice being heard slightly forward of the rear view mirror.
During some tracks with spatial distortion, i can easily be fooled into thinking i have rear speakers and that some stereo fading is enveloping me in the cabin..
it makes me smile. Screw rears.

i have basically the same thing, i have pioneer's in the rear of my teg, in stock location, and busted *** oem's for the front, non amplafied, cant really hear the loudness from then, but they help fill up some sound, and since your legs are down there in the way, really doesnt help much.
so i rock amplafied rear speakers!!

rear speakers only is a complete disregard to sound imagining and sound staging.
with the set up that you're describing, i'd be happier driving with a set of headphones on me. a person informed about proper audio sound will laugh at this.

and you guys are the ones that are wrong...
as far as the rear being louder than the front... i wouldnt do that. i make it so that i feel like i am in the middle of the sound (center).

You might want to tell the IASCA and USAC judges that, so they stop giving trophies to the "wrong" guys.

Rear speakers are more of a preference to SQ guys. Some like rear fill and some don't. IMO rear speakers are unnecessary. Last time I was at a concert the band was in front of me, that is if my memory serves me correctly.

Well, the people Winning the trophies also have like $1200 ADS component sets in their cars... that MAY be the reason they are winning...
dont even start to argue with me about this, ive heard enought bullshit when it comes to people saying that rear speakers suck

if you were at a nice concert at a nice ampitheater, there were speakers surrounding you! i know the band was infront, but if you had seats and werent in the lawn, you should have had about 50 speakers behind you along the ceiling.!

It has much more to do with speaker placement than it does with price.
