anyone heard of this?
a friend said that the awd parts from a 1986 civic awd wagon will bolt on to the crx making it awd. is this true?

 

I'm not sure how true his statement is if it will "bolt on". it has been done though, try searching the archives for it I know it's been posted here.

sigh, here we go again

 

You could do it, AWD into the crx.. Alot of work has to be done... And a major cost project.

 

hahaha...i was thinking about doing this 4 years ago...and no,the awd drivetrain is not bolt on to the crx,or there'd be more out there.

 

yea they might bolt up... but if they do, um i dont think that 86 awd transmission is gonna be to good for racing with....................

 

Just get a WRX and call it a day

 

the tranny bolts up...but thats all...the rear end doesnt bolt up.And the tranny and all the rest of the drivetain are skinny and weak.

1. 84-87 3rd gen wagon & 1st gen crx=compatible bolt up, but
beyond this...getting everything underneath & thru-out to work
pull out the $$$ & a welder
2. 4th gen civic wagon & 2nd gen crx same as above
$$$ & welder
3.the Guy who did the crx b series boosted with the crv drivetrain
different story
CRAZY but gifted
just go buy a rt or crv its cheaper no
