I swear theres one post a day about these newbs with lsvtec questions.
Here's the best thing you can do before building. Click the search button and search for lsvtec, ls/vtec, ls-vtec. There will be a bazillion posts about it and read each and every single thread. That will give you a slight idea about what you need and where you need to start. I recommend searching first next time you have a question because I'll bet you money it's been covered here before.

U forgot the cost of the VEE TAK LIGHT, so that brings it up to about $22

to do it the right way and have it reliable it is going to cost some money..... there are many factors involved in ls-vtec to make it run right.
i dont think i would go through all of that, i wouls just swap the motor out for something better,
gsr motor gets my vote!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: I WANNA GO LSVTEC (riceball777)
I feel violated, swap a GSR engine in? Cheapest I found that engine for was $3,500.. Not including shipping! My local tuner told me "$2,000 and I can do everything in the swap." Included V-AFC for tuning. $3,500 + putting in the engine.. (And if you don't know how to do that add $500)... Total: $4,000.. You can piece a sick turbo kit, including pistons, rods, sleeving the block for that much. Boosted LS = Love

I believe the B16A2 is from a 99-00 Civic Si, but many different B16 heads are on many different cars. The Del Sol VTEC had a b16 as well, as do many JDM Hondas. So you weren't completely wrong, but most B16s that are used for swaps tend to be from Japan and are purchased used from different engine importers.
EDIT: the post below me is right, 99-00 Si is b16a3. Thanks for the correction.

just build your ls motor up.The ls is actually pretty good if you build it.You dont need VtEc YO.After all its just a more agressive lobe on the camshaft that can be run all the time on aftermarket ls cams. Then get the head and components flowing good you have a monster.People have put down 195 hp and 160 lbs of torque with a budget build.Thats very impressive.
