Flashing Maintenance Required Light - 2000 accord
i started my car this morning and my maintenance required light started flashing about 10 times or so - i dont have the car manuel as i just bought this car a couple weeks ago...any cause for this?
That light is milage timed, you need an oil change.
That is all.
To reset it, put the key in, push the trip odometer reset button, turn the key for a few seconds, like you are going to start the car, (if its a 5sp, DO NOT push the clutch) You dont want the car to actually start. If you have an auto, i am not sure what to do.

That light starts flashing after 6,000 miles after the last reset, I believe, and stays solid after 7,500 miles. Something like that.
But yes, it's a reminder to do routine maintenance, to reset it just follow the instructions above (it should be the same for an automatic as it is for a manual).

Your car may need more than just an oil change, check your manual for the maintenance schedule. If you don't have your owner's manual, tell us the year and how many cylinders and we can tell you what the factory recommends.
