Default Overheating in turns

Like problem stated.

Mods:
CnR Radiator
Mugen Thermostat
Mugen Fan switch

Went to streets of willow yesterday, after about 3-4 laps, the temp needle starts to climb. I notice it most in the middle of a turn, while going straight it starts to cool down. Normal driving is fine. Any ideas?

How high does your temp needle climb? might not be accurate ... just a thought.

Were any of the mods done recently? Did you properly bleed the system? Check the water level?

maybe the speeds on a turn is slower so it cools less...but thats probably unlikely
it might be your water pump? i dont know what revs you have during a turn

if it was the water pump i would think that the car would be hot all the time, unless it's just a blade or two that has broken off.

i would be tempted to say thermostat on this one. take it out, put it in a cup of boiling water, and see if that bitch opens up like it's supposed to.

mods were done about 6 months ago. i've done streets before and had no problem. then buttonwillow in feb. the system has been bled.

i'm going thru the turns at about 7k rpm modulating throttle.

damn, i just got the damn thermostat, i hope it hasn't failed on me already.

at least it's easy to check.

does it overheat on the street as well? if so, pull the thermostat out and see how that works.

I had the same problem but with the Spoon switch and themostat. I switched them both out with the stuff from Autozone and I haven't had any issues for a year now.

streets has pretty slow corners and the engine is working real hard in them.. (more like an over grown auto cross with a big straight)

The corners do not provide the best air flow...

have you tested your fan on temp? If the fan is pulling when it is needed then air flow is not the problem.. As long as the fan is properly shrouded..

I would then try to verify that the engine is really getting hot and its not a gauge acting up under the g-forces...

I had massive temp issues when we took the cossie down to Streets for the G-Games... It didn't help that it was 108 with a track temp of 145ish...

the fan isn't doing anything but getting in the way at speeds above 15mph.

Not necessarily. When the water pump in my 84 wagon went, it would only get hot when idling.
The first thing I thought of was the levels + bleeding the system since it only happens when turning.
Does it overheat just idling?

problem is still there and i've attempted to track it. get about 3-4 laps before I have to pit because my needle is 3/4 of the way up.

i have a vtec solenoid gasket leak and the dirt was caked all over the CTS. Could these two problems affect temperature that much? Fan's usually runs for 15 minutes straight after 3-4 laps.

Installed a water and oil temp gauge. Going to see from there if it's affected during street driving.

Oil Temp can rise up to 95 C on the street, right? I've never seen it go over 100. Just on the freeway around 4.5krpm

Please help solve my problem.
I've stumped everyone that I know - this includes shop owners and master mechanics.
