Is my motor blown? Or could it be a fuse? When i turn off the radio on my car, i feel like i can hear the motor strive to bring it down, but no such luck. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Most likely the antenna mast is broken. On the bottom of the antenna, there is a long plastic cord with teeth on it. The motor grabs this and pulls the antenna down. Most likely, the mast is broken and there is no teeth for the motor to grasp or the teeth might be stripped. A new antenna mast is like 25 bucks off of ebay and its usually a 10 minute job unless the old mass was broken. If it was broken, you might have to take apart the assembly and remove the broken piece.
it's the track that travels through the motor...they slip off or break because they're made of plastic. you need to either go buy a new motor and replace the old one, or just unplug the motor and leave the antenna height where you want it, or replace your antenna with an S2000 one (which is what i did). the S2000 replacement antenna looks pretty clean, but to get it to work properly with your stock integra radio (ie. pull in a good signal) you need to mess with it a little bit.

haha, I have the same problem, I am about to piece out that hunk of garbage. I also have a broken antenna that sliced my hand open the other day, so you can bet I will be totally annihilating that thing as soon as I get some satelite radio.
I have your fix right here...

S2k antenna. Cheap as dirt to do teh swap, and you don't have to worry about the ugly stock antenna going up and down anymore...

When my car was only 6 months old, the mast broke and Acura replace it for me. Obviously for free, but these things break EASILY. Almost every Integra I see at the mall have antenna's that are halfway up/down.
The S2000 mod is a good idea and looks clean.
Plus you can listen to music while going through the car wash!!

Thats one of the nicest GSR's ive seen...
I heard that the Antenna motors are expensive.
Maybe i should think about a s2000 antenna. Thanks everyone

My mom left her radio on while going through the car wash and bent her mast, stopping the antenna from moving. I went to a "you pick it and you pull it" junk yard and tore off an entire antenna assembly for 15 bucks. Put it in and its still running strong after 7 years...

IMO: The s2k antenna is for looks only.
The radio reception with it sucks horribly, it is WAAAAAAAAY inferior to the oem gsr antennas, and i know someone's gonna say "well i just listen to cd's anyway" then just take out the antenna and have a body shop shave the hole, that looks better than a little stubbyass antenna stickin up.

Thanks guys
btw, if you didn't want to go the s2k antenna route you can probably find a used motor from someone on here...I sold mine for like 30? Can't really remember. I would definately go s2k style though

And btw, there is a guy on here that sells kits to install the s2k antenna on the Integras. I can try to look for his name if he doesnt chime in...

yes, help it. give it a gentle push down and it should work again. this happens with mine in the winter sometimes when it freezes.(but then i have to wait for it to warm up before i do that) but don't replace it yet, just try to push it down.

I tried this, but pushing it back down doesnt completely work. It only goes like maybe 1/10th of all the way down. It goes a few inches, but definitly wont go the rest. SHould i force it?
Im kinda undecided if i want to s2k it. Im tryin to picture it on a milano teg.

If you do the install correctly, you will not notice any change in radio reception quality. you have to re-use part of the original integra antenna motor (the part that actually mounts it to the body of the car that has the OEM plug for the antenna line to plug into). if you do this, the antenna will work properly and you will have excellent radio reception. i did it on my gsr and i never have any problems at all...and all i do is listen to the radio.
