Default help with tranny problem

i went out today after finally getting my turbo stuff back together and went out for a drive. i tok it easy in 1st gear becauxe i dont get much traction in 1st. i put into 2nd gear and floored it then and my wheels lost traction at about 5000 rpms as usual and when i shifted to 3rd (i never power shift) my tranny started making a clacking sound. this isnt the normal axle clack sound though. i replaced both axels and it still does it and it makesthe sound even when i coast in neutral. i have a feeling itmight be either the final drive or the diff. any onehave any ideas?

note* when i put the car on jack stands and have my friend put the car in 2nd gear and give alight gas you can hear the sound coming from the tranny and when i look at the axels where they go into the tranny i can see them wobbling both sides.

EDIT*** pulled the tranny and took it apart and found the carnage.
looks like i need a new counter shaft and a new ring gear along with the appropriate bearings and seals for teh tranny while im at it. while im in the tranny i might as well upgrade to a lsd unit as well.

yea the car moves. i can drive it but the clacking sound is terrible. i can feel it in the shifter. the clacking noise can be heard in any gear 1-5 not reverse and even when im coasting in neutral . i replaced both axels and still the noise continues.

its definately coming from tranny. when i put teh car on jackstands and got underneath the car while it was in gear i can clearly hear it from the tranny and also i can see the axels wobbling especially near where they are inserted into the tranny differential
