I have the cheapest Alpine with 4 volt pre-outs...not sure what the model is. I'm waiting on the new Alpine coming out that will control an iPod.

I roll with pioneer premier HU only...you cannot sub amything for quality and longevity. I have had my premier 930 for 3 years now and its still flawless and in perfect working order with no signs of wear or malfunction.

 

Haha I wish I can say the same for mine. Everything works great, except that it doesn't always want to spit my CDs back out.

i have a sony (yeah i know theyre low end stuff and all there amps and subs suck) but this is the cdx-m610 (the smooth balck motorized face with controls on the other side) i traded my kenwood kdc-319 for it and the sony is 10x better. Lpf's and Hpf's and a sub pre out makes my system so much louder and clearer

 

I have an Alpine 9813 at the moment. I'm the type of person that likes to change my stereo stuff quite a bit though so the longest I have ever kept a deck was about a year. I'm thinking about getting the Pioneer AVIC-N1 in the next couple of months...or maybe a new Eclipse.

You want to know what head unit I have? Which one? The Eclipse 8052 in my Honda? or the 8053 in my SQ comp car? Or perhaps the CDA-7949 I'm still holding onto just for nostalgia's sake?

Oh..and just a BTW: can you tell me anything about the 7949 off the top of your head? How about we start with what brand it is? Don't just assume I'm a friggin newbie here lush...

I would guess that the 7949 is an alpine model. Since it is a 79xx it has no internal power and requires amp. What do I win?

BTW, My last head unit was a 7998 if the original poster is still interested in this thread

It really sucked that I did too, Memphis offered to put me up in a suite at the Adam's Mark for letting them demo my SQ car in their booth. With any luck I can take them up on it next year...we always get free meals/drinks courtesy of good ol' Mr. Fulmer...
