Default calling all SLAMMED cars w/ tokico illumina's and skunk2's

yo, my suspension setup is currently "tokico illumina's and skunk2's" and my car is slammed, dumped, low as ****. my shocks are set at 5 in front and 4 in the rear and it rides okay. the point is, im striving for a better ride quality thats not bouncy. i was wondering if anyone has the same setup and what settings you have on your front and rear shocks.

i can post a pic of how low my car is if it's really needed.

If your ride is dumped, I suggest setting your struts on the softest settings. I forgot weather it was 1 or 5. Try setting the front on 1's and see how it rides. I had my sh*t dumped for a while w/ soft settings and it rode fine, not bouncy at all.

Damn dude, when i had my set up like that (i have the same combo you do) and that low it killed my back. So i raised it up and set the settings to 3 in front and 2 in back. But when i race i lower it to where the front wheels barely tuck under the fender and the back has a finger gap with 5 in front and 3 in back.

get GC upper hats so you won't bottom the shock piston out.

The bounciness is probably your shocks hitting the bumpstops. Raise your car back up and get some shock travel. The illuminas havein adequate dampening for going that low. You need to get a pair of shortened shocks or the gc upper mounts so you get an extra inch of travel.

way ahead of you guys, i already ordered the upper mounts monday, should arrive next week

i tried setting it to 1 in front and 1 in the rear but it didn't work out, the back got a little happy so im trying out 3 in front and 3 in the rear now. should the rear shocks be set lower than the front?

with my GC and AGX setup, i found that my car rode just like stock when the perch was set all the way up. if you're sick of a lousy ride and scarping everywhere, and are willing to scarifice the slammed look, just raise ur **** up a bit =P

why are you riding it that low? for looks? I have illuminas on 5 ( stiffest ) front and back and skunk 2 civic springs on my 99 hatch. I think it rides fairly good. little harsh on most bumpy roads. But i'd rather deal with that and have it corner great on the smooth **** then have it softer. My height is set at one finger gap all around from top of tire to fender.

the more you dump your car, the more you sacrifice comfortability. my car is dumped too, and i just ride around on settings front-1 rear-1.

my car isn't gonna be any higher cause thats the way i like it. besides, i only fly by corners now and then, its strictly a means of transportation since im a college student and id rather sacrafice some handling issues to make my car look sweet dumped

fyi, im 3/4's of the way down on my skunks and i dont scrape anywhere cause i know how to angle properly. the only thing that scrapes is my mudguard going up driveways

I HAVE NO IDEA. why do people get so mad about what people say. i mean, WHO CARES. if they do say something kinda dumb (not saying what you said was dumb), why can't anyone ignore it? they have to point it out to feel better about themself

If you have it pretty slammed like this guy does, would it be easier on the shocks to have it on the softest or stiffest setting? Basically what Im saying, is for a dumped car...would the shock last longer if it was on the soft or stiff setting? Im thinking it would be soft right?

and anyway, they need to be stiff as possible to keep the car off the bumpstops so the shocks won't get damaged... but they probably can't keep the car off the bumpstops unless you have 700 or 800lb springs in their which i doubt you do..

blah blah.
