My 88 CRX Project Log
Sup all, I'm starting this thread to log the progress on my summer project. My goal is to get it painted and running by September for school, it will be my daily driver.
Here is what I'm starting out with: 88 dx auto bought for $400 down in Georgia. Has no rust and needs some body work +paint, and an engine. Came with new driver side door, hatch, 89 si complete wiring harness, manual pedal assembly, extra front bumper, crappy rear bumper, and some misc parts. I will be using my daily driver crx for parts.
These pics are what was posted when it was for sale, I didn't take any other before I started working on it:

Here is how it sits now after working on it a few weekends:

d15 out
I forgot to drain the tranny before I popped an axle out and got a nice oil bath on my chest...other than that everything has gone pretty smooth so far. Gonna start cleaning up and scuffing the inside and engine bay for paint. I havn't chosen a specific color but I want an olive green - army green color.
After painting (which will all be done in my garage) I will work on getting an engine in, b16 or LS. I have to do a 5 spd conversion which I'm sure will be fun when I have to get the pedal assembly in. Next summer I plan on turbo'ing it.
I'll try to keep frequent updates, it could be hard tho because I don't have a digital camera. I've seen a few other project ef threads so it should keep this board pretty interesting
edit- Some bonus pics:
My other beater:

5 hp, for sale if anyone is interested.

Well I've worked out a deal with my cousin who has a 91 teg with a near perfect body and blown engine just sitting around down at her college (2.5 hours away)...I tow it back up to Chicago and take care of selling it (I told her I think it would go for $700) and I get the parts I want off it. We havn't worked out specifics but I want the axles, ecu, dist, tranny, and possibly the AC comp/bracket. Does anyone know for sure if the teg AC compressor will fit with a b-series swap?
Also I've been cleaning out the interior and was wondering for those that have painted the interior body, did you just paint over those hard gray lines (fuels lines?)?

UPDATE
My cousin had a 91 teg just sitting down in Champaign, so I picked it up for her. The block has stripped threads for the head bolts and has been sitting for 2 years while my cousin decided what to do with it. I made a deal: I tow it to Chicago and take care of selling the shell and some parts for her, in return I get the parts I want.
Here's the teg:

CLEAN body, no rust, almost perfect interior, no major dings, originally from Florida. If I didn't have my project CRX I would have bought it off of her. (For sale, will have proper ad soon).
Some of the parts I got:

That one axles is popped out, I believe I can just wiggle it back into place? On top of that stuff I got the ecu, engine minus head, ac compressor, alternator, starter, distributor, tranny mount bracket, intake manifold, and tranny.
Can someone confirm that the AC comp. will fit in the CRX?
Rebuilt head from when my cousin was trying to fix the car (for sale, IM not included):

My dog likes to hang out with me in the garage:

So now I have a good amount of the parts I will need for my swap, going to be putting in a LS and converting to OBD1. I will be ordering the longblock from hmotors, going to see if they can give me an ECU with it. Also is the engine harness from the LS necessary? because hmotors does not include it with longblocks.

I've never measured how fast it went but the previous owner claimed 40 mph. It sure feels that fast. I ran it for the first time in years a couple days ago, started right up and still felt strong. I see these things go for around $300 on ebay all the time, but its negotiable.
