Ferrari Club @ VIR---May 1-2
The Ferrari Club SE is running at VIR this weekend...along with the Lambo Club and Maserati Club. Small group, but some incredible cars there. Sorry for the color/lighting...it's cloudy down here today.

Nice day to work pitout...

Very cool. Would love to be there to check out the cars. Even an Enzo!! Somebody has money. Some of the cars look like their owners may flog their cars at speed but I am curious as to how prevelant the 9/10s driving is at that event.

There were three groups running today...touring light, touring and high speed. The touring lights are limited to about 85 on the straights with no passing....touring is limited to around 100 with passing only on the straight...high speed is unlimited.
I was out on the start stand for one of the high speed sessions...there were two 360s (street), a 328, a 355 Challenge and two 360 Challenges on track. We had a radar gun and were clocking the 355 Challenge and one of the 360 Challenges at about 130 between 17 and start/finish. Turn one had a radar gun also and got a reading of 140 and some change between the kink and turn one.
No matter whether they are driving at 9/10 or 5/10, it sure is cool to see and hear Ferraris on the track. The owner of the Enzo was out in touring....that car looks great on the track.

I was there yesterday too
Interesting observations:
Enzo owner supposedly owns close to 30 exotics.
Enzo had water in the side markers
A 360 has a 9 bolt system that allows the entire motor and rear chassis to drop out of the car for easier service.
The F40 blows a turbo diaphragm almost every time it is driven hard.
Most Ferrari owners only change the oil 1x a year.
A timing belt change needs to be completed every 15,000 mi or 5 yrs, whichever comes first. Cost approx. $5G for service.
That Porsche is owned by a friend of mine that I haven't seen in over 10 yrs. Funny to run into him out there! He builds NASCAR motors now.
Distinctly heard Oscar White's voice over the 328 he was instructing in Hog Pen saying, "press the gas, press the gas."

Not to thread jack but one of the cars above deserves some better photos.. I believe I crossed paths with the second car in your post, fortunately it was stationary so I could take some pics, the owner didn't mind.
I asked the guy if he ever takes the car to the track and he's like "oh, i'm on my way to the track right now!".. So I ask him where, and he says "LimeRock Park"
- just as I was preparing my car for my first HPDE at limerock!
I'll let the pics speak for themselves!

Isn't that somethin'?

edit: just got done with post......gonna go find out how much an F40 cost, just curious.
