Default Painted the hatch... (56K get some milk and cookies)

okay so it started out I was driving down the road and decided I wanted to paint my car... so I looked into some different colors and then I decided that I wanted a stock color so it would be relativly cheaper and easier to get than if I were to try to come up with somethign myself... well I decided on Desert Silver Metallic (stock RSX color) and I painted the roof Nighthawk Black.

well I didnt actually paint it, it was one of my best friend's (Corey) neighbor Tom Casias... but he gave me a killer deal... I bought the paint and helped him with the prep work (learned alot) and I only had to pay him roughly $500 the paint was only $183 and then the fun began

here is what she looked like after her first wash... nice huh??

then came the sanding... we wet sanded with 1000, just the clear coat and some of the paint accidentally but that didnt matter

next the motor came out...

Had to take a break...

Z6 What!!

Then the scrubbing started

Simple Green/elbow grease

Next the interior and sound deadening came out... and she got another bath... ("H" emblem shaved, preparing to shave keyhole)

Stripped??

Next it was off to the paint booth (well sort of) Tom Casias the guy who painted it was a really cool guy and has been painting for 40+ years

no more antenna!

roof... nighthawk black... hmmmm

still a little wet

after she was dry we took her over to Davids house to be re-assembled
sorry man... I had to he was a little drunk in this picture...

sorry thats a little blurry

from left to right... (Matty boy, Mike, and Corey :middlefinger: (Tom's neighbor) putting the interior back in)

those clowns again... Matt seems to be the only one working huh??

Back end finally put back together... (keyhole and "H" shaved)

the front end back on... new JDMsh!t CF hood

Finally it all got put back together and now she resides in oklahoma...

Door Handles still need to be painted and I didnt have the sideskirts on yet because I need some more screws... they got lost somewhere... but I did paint my wheels... ugly crx si wheels dont look half bad now

well that is all... tell me watcha think

oh yeah and evan here are 2 pictures of siddah (sp) after the meet up in bham I just never got around to loading them up

I'll go get the real thing, **** after the money I saved on this paint.... I think I might get some Mf-10s maybe...

looks like a good turnout. we need a pic of those sideskirts and lip on and get some wheels

also a couple questions. how long did the whole thing take? does the dash or interior rattle since you took it out and put it back in?

well I put in a 97 ITR dash (havent gotten it fully wired up yet) but it is in there and it doesnt rattle at all, this weekend I am going to polish it and take some more pictures... so maybe a lip will be the next thign on my list of things to buy and then I can take some more pictures... (cant ***** it out too quickly)

the whole process took longer than I expected (about 5 weeks) because Tom put me on the back burner for about a week cause he had other projects he had to get done... which is why he didnt get the door handles painted. ( I had gotten the motor in the car the day before we pulled out and made our way down here to Oklahoma) it was a fun week long drive... went to disney land and vegas the grand canyon... it was pretty cool trip

What was the whole idea behind painting the roof a different color?
Its kind of growing on me for some reason.
