sup fellas?....i have a 94 cx with a gsr swap. im from norhtern cali and it's pretty hot over here, i want AC in my ride. can anyone help me out on what i need to have AC. what parts i need from the civic, integra or del sol.? any help will be appreciated...thanks..(my cx never had AC when i got it)...

getting my two a/c valves from them $50 + shipping with 6 month warranty... better than any junkyard locally which have no warranty..

 

Honda makes a complete ac kit as well. I dunno if it will all bolt up to your swap though. And i dont know if it includes the electronics needed to controll it.

Its a whopping 37lbs and doesn't draw THAT much power. Big deal.

I too have a jdm gsr swap in my hatch. I chose to go without A/C.

However, if you want a/c, simply remove the compresor etc off the gsr motor, buy the bracket for a del sol si and then I think you use it in conjunction with another piece either from your sohc motor or some other honda part.(sorry im exhausted and cant think right now.)

Can anyone help me out because you will save a **** load as opposed to buying the whole setup from honda

Go check the classifieds, specifically people who just did a swap. AC is not as important to most members as it is to you: I'm sure there are several complete, unmolested systems that you can buy for a fair price.

me three, out of my 92 DX... (actually it's already been sold technically, I just wanted to be part of the club)

I'd like to know what exactly is needed to run a/c in a b-seires powered hatch.. I'd imagine alot of stuff from the sol vtec would work.

 

to run ac in a bseries swap on the 5g civic is simple. u keep everything the same except for the driver side lower ac mount. u have to get a P54 del sol vtec ac mount, which will let u bolt ur stock 5g civic ac compressor on problem free and mounts right up.

also, when ur buying someone else's complete ac system, make sure you either get the 92-93(r12) system or the 94-95(r134a) system. Dont mix and match the condensor or compressor of those years, cuz the lines dont seal correctly.

The lines seal fine. I have done this before. Dunno what you are referring to. The only difference between the two systems are the fittings on the lines for connecting the service equipment to and the reciever dryer. Other then that, same ****, different pile. Has nothing to do with the compressor or the condensor. Of course the oil used in the systems is also different, but we aren't talking about that. You can buy conversion kits from the local auto parts store to convert R12 service fittings to R134a also for a couple dollars.

 

A girls gotta have AC! Your girls arnt gonna wanna ride with you boys if its 100 out and no AC! Street cars should have AC. Race cars dont need them.

 

FYI the p54 bracket part # is 38930-P54000 from honda. I ordered one yesterday. it also has a big P54 stamped on it.

maybe go search a junkyard but its rare and $$$ .retail is $222 CAD (about $180 USD) I paid $170 CAD + tax

oh, i meant the two large tubes that run from the compressor to the condensor. I have a 93 civic and had gotten into an accident that crushed my condensor. I went and bought a 94 civic condensor and tried to connect the tube to the condensor but it would not fit and seal perfectly.

It really doesn't draw any power unless its on, since it is clutch driven. I had to take mine out of the 2000 coupe to make room for a bigger downpipe and turbo manifold.

 

I have a full system for sale!!!!! out of my 95 Coupe IM ME if you are interested!
