They are still around but barely breathing as of late. From what I have read here on H-T, it seems like they don't like paying the racers or are late to do so
I would rank them either 3 or 4 out of all the series' (NDRA, NHRA, BOTI and IDRC). Also, they have dropped some events off their schedule, they used to have like 8-10 and now it's down to 6

IDRC events are still on and poppin. Still a great racing series to go to. This year its not much of a BIG points series, but still a good event to come out to and race.
They have the PRO-AM street classes that everyone is joining.
Payouts are no problem this year. all the people I know that won are getting their winnings.

I have a feeling IDRC is going to drop "Pro" classes all together, which wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Considering there still conflicts of schedule between all the series, you think everybody could have dates that don't conflict, but they are trying to kill one another.

There should be a series for just "street legal" cars and leave the other three series to fight it out for all the pro racers and "limited" street cars.

NIRA remember them?

IDRC will have to close or stay on par like they are now with such events as battle of the imports

Nopi owns the NIRA name. it was never copyrighted by anyone at NIRA or NHRA so mike myers spent $40 to own the NIRA name.

Yes we are still producing drag racing events... WE do now cater towards more of a grassroots level of racing because we think that is the future of our sport... yes we did drop a couple of venues but for those who know us, we are constantly publishing and producing two of the top magazines in the industry, DSport and TPR.

We have been very pleased with our first two events and look forward to our first east coast event this year. We know our website sucks.. it does say 2003.. we are in the process of changing the entire site, but its taking a little longer than expected... all the information on the front page is up to date.. we if you have any questions you can email us at info@importdrag.com.

thanks.

i had an idea. to coincide with their respective locations maybe idrc should focus on doing west coast events while nopi will run on the east coast. what do you guys think?

I AGREE......

there LACR, Pomona, Infinion, Firebird, Bandimere(Co.), LVMS, Sacremento Raceway, Famoso in bakersfield, woodburn(Ore.), and pacific raceway(kent, wa)..

that way us local guys can run a west coast circuit. IDRC...are you listening?????????????

good point on the West Coast series.

but how many people are willing to follow a West Coast series. Alot of people say theyll be down to do it, but most dont even show up to the real local events.

We are at every west coast event and these are the people that we see that actually travel the West Coast events.. at least last year and this year so far.
Quick Class:
Laskey
Del Rosario
De La Cruz

All Motor:
Bisi
Kelly's(VW)
Norman Aubry
Scheepers
Leslie
Augilar
Lookofsky
Sacchette
Holland's
Mohler
Barber and Moyles

But its not like you can count on all these racers to show up either. The rest of the field are the part time racers who only go to the close events.
To have a real Series going on for points chase, there has to be a good amount of teams that show up for the event to be succesful.

Doesn't each race association have a contract with the dragstrips ? idrc=lacr and firebird battleoftheimports=famoso cmi=sacramento nhra=lasvegas, infineon, woodburn and any track they want.

yea each sanctioning body has contracts with the tracks... thats why some series's can go to some tracks and some cant... it depends if they are the exclusive "import" sanctioning body that can run that type of event at there track..

but the All west series sounds like a good idea.... ill ask the higher power above me and see what he thinks..

thanks guys

That would be great if there was a west coast series. AZ,CA,NV,OR,WA should be able to get a good 8-10 race series. I think more people would build & race cars on the west coast if we had a series to race. I also think some of the big west coast companies would be willing to sponsor some races if we had a series like this but that's just my .02$

I hope there is a West Coast series. more teams will probably be able to commit to building a full race car if we didnt have to compete with teams that can go national.
