so i bought a tranny from this guy and he claimed it was in perfect shape. I sent him the money and he shipped out a week later. he is located in Cali and for some reason it was shipped out from the east coast. I put it in a month ago and it had a grind from 1st - 2nd i had a guy take it out and he said the internals were shot. This is such bull ****. Please don't buy from this guy. His parts are crap.

Dude you didnt even elaborate let us know the whole story before you blast someones name we have only heard one side and you havnt stated if you tried to resolve the issue I understand how you might feel but brian is not the one to **** anyone over especially with his repore on H-T.

 

I bought a 97 ITR tranny off of him a year ago and everything went smooth. I have been talking to him the last year then when I asked to buy something else he claimed he had it. I sent him the money threw paypal and he shipped it out a week later claiming he shipped it out. Then a few days later I recieved a PM saying he shipped it to some guy on the eas coast but that guy didn't want it and he would ship it out to me from there. Thats when it seemed kinda messed up. When i received the tranny the mounts were cracked and i stated to him it looked like it had been opened up b/c it had a new seal on it. He told me it hadn't and everything worked fine on it. It took me a month or so to get it in b/c I had school, work, and family obligations. This was my 5th tranny install so I know everything went right on it. It grinded from 1-2 really bad. Lucky it wasn't my daly driver. So recently I had a guy I know pull it out and take it apart. he said he had never seen gears so worn out in his life. He said that teeth were missing and their were metal shards everywhere. I paid $750 for this tranny and it is complete ****. I am so pissed and out that money. It would cost over $600 to get a rebuild b/c i need 1-2-3 gear and they only sell them in sets no individual gears.

Hmm so you received a transmission from someone other than Brian and it was messed up? Sounds like your problem isn't with Brian. Sounds like the guy who sent you the trans took advantage of the situation to pawn a crap tranny off to you on Brian's good name. Brian is a great guy. Stand up. This is an unfortunate situation.

i revised my disclaimer cuz of issues with certain folks that dont install parts after they receive. and then later on claim they are fucked up. i know it was about 2 months cuz he aim me and log off right away within 10 seconds. that aim was at least 2 weeks ago. and the reason why it came from the east coast was fred and j's decided to get a 4.78 itr trannie from me instead of a gsr trannie. i will get the shipping records for it shortly.

 

In light of Brian's posted information I retract my statement that it could have been Julian who sent you the damaged tranny. Both of these guys have tons of references selling and buying. I just don't see these guys scamming you man. Brian's business depends on his ability to maintain a good reputation, a reputation I fully vouch for, blatantly scamming you in this manner just doesn't sound like him.

no one has time to take a trannie apart and see how fucked up it is and sealed it back up and sell it as a good trannie. well thanks everyone for standing up for me. off to work now.

 

definatly sounds like the buyer didnt read the disclaimer..the buyer should have made sure it worked properly right away instead of waiting 2 months...and if he was seriouse about trying to work this out he would be more mature about the matter instead of talking **** and then logging off aim right away.. to the buyer..ok ive said my .02 im out

Ya I know the tranny has been sitting for awhile but that wouldn't affect the condition it is in. The car has been in storage until a few weeks ago. It hasn't been driven at all. It's not my fault i have school monday-friday and then have work after school on the weekends. It sucks *** that I get a peice of **** tranny for the money I paid for it. I admit my first transaction went smooth with brian thats why I did business with him again. He claimed he forgot he sold the tranny to another guy the day after I sent him the money. Then had it shipped from the east coast. How does he know this guy didn't send a crapped out tranny. This tranny is complete ****. And anyone looking to buy something from brian I would be aware. I told him before I put it in that it looked like it had been opened up and he said " just put it in and then talk to me" well brian I put it in... so talk to me. It's a complete peice of ****. I have many people who can vouch for me for seeing this tranny and how it looked in a rebuilt status when I recieved it and people that know I am a good guy. I'm not out to cause a fight. but if you were to get screwed out of over $700 I think everyone would be doing the same.

 

Robert told me about the tranny right after he finished installing it. told me that he had some hard shifts between 1 and 2. so this was a couple months ago and i can verify Roberts story. i though this was resolved already. i guess not

 

i stand behind brian 100%, every part ive gotten from him, from my JDM tranny, to a plastic cover, have all been in awesome condition. thats my $.50

that's really odd how he admits he waited 2 months after he received it to install it to discover the problem. and then u come here make a post that he told u about the problem 2 months ago. so verfied your little stories straight before trying to attack the situation. and to ELWOOD once again get a life sniffle boy!

Well I know for a fact I can vouch for the Wongster he has too much clientel and is too straight forward to jack someone he has recieved at least $3500 from me and I recieved parts (extra) that werent even part of the deal so BIG UPS FOR BRIAN FROM ME. My only question is bro why wait so long yeah I know the first thing came to mind is "this cat just jacked me" but you have to keep a cool head and discuss the situation with the seller in order to come to a resolution, I know for a fact brian would have came to some type of a agreement to squash the drama.

Its simple fact: you buy a used transmission, when you receive it take it somewhere reputable to have it checked out or buy some seals and open up yourself. This is common knowledge in this business. Brian is one of the best people to deal with on this board and to throw an accusation out there without even consulting the guy is a pure insult to him and shows how much intelligence you have.

I had this same crap pulled on me last year by someone in AZ and its damn near the same story(actually, its pretty erie). Guy buys a motorswap in May, then in August(1 week before the 3 month warrenty was up) he claims I screwed him over because the tranny was messed up and he wants a full refund and wants me to reimburse the cost of the tranny rebuild($1500!). Says he has a written estimate and all this other stuff to prove it. So I tell him several times to ship the swap back for inspection or fax me 1) the estimate and workorder for repair/rebuild on the tranny and 2) the work order of the certified mechanic that installed the engine. I did this frequently over the phone(through voicemail because for some reason no one ever picked up), through email and I even called his credit card company to let them know of the situation(which happend to be his mom's creditcard). I tried until the end of october to get a hold of the guy and never could. So I gave up.

Here it is almost a year later and still haven't heard from him. His 3month warrenty is definitely up and I will definitely NOT honor any other bullshit he might come up with. I had to create special file for that idiot and I still have it just to cover my *** incase he decides to do something else about it.

I smell BS brian.
$1600 for a gsr tranny with quafie lsd. I tore it apart and inspected it myself. Everything was fine so I put it back together with new seal. It took approximently 1.5 hours out of a 24hr day. I did this not because I didn't trust Brian. I did this because I bought a used transmission and I have common sense. I trust Brian with my money and so do most people on this board.
