Default Code 15?

ok so I'm getting code 15 which is "Ignition Output Signal missing or defective ignition output signal" and I just finished up my wiring to the B16 in my 90 CRX Si. The only things that are different about my car is that I'm using a JDM ignition and a 90 Hf harness. So what can I check? The engine was swapped from another CRX Si and ran and now I get no spark?

Is there a way to check voltage with a voltmeter? Any suggestions? Thanx in advance

I had the same problem. Try using a "known good" ecu. The ecu I bought was bad and had to be replaced. Fired first try with a new ecu though.

You can bust out a voltmeter to make sure. Refer to the procedure here.

Btw, these links came from the handy dandy FAQ thread at the top of this forum.

The links don't work. The ECU I'm using came from a running car and so did the engine so I'm sure it would work but I'll try it anyways.

O yeah I just took the JDM ignition off and it's still doing the same thing. Here's a weird sympton I'm getting too when the key is off the dash ldummy lights stay on but there very dim. while everything else turns off.

do you think it coudl possibly be the dizzy?

My bad.

Edit. If you know your ecu is good it IS more then likely something wrong at the dizzy. Also the problem could be with your ignition switch, if it don't work, the dizzy does'nt get any power. Break out the voltmeter, use the links, and you should be able to pinpoint the problem in no time.

ok I just swapped the 2 wires on the dizzy and now it sounds like I am getting no spark at all. I switched them around and it's starting to sound like it wants to start but it doesn't I just get the code.

well Looks like I'm going to bust out the volt meter and see what happens.

thanx for the help guys

ok well I just tested my dizzy and ECU on another CRX with a B16 and they work fine. I tested everything and the dizzy is getting juice but doesn't turn over??? I am noticing that the Hf harness compaired to my Si plug are totally differnt and some do not match up at all. I'm thinking of just buying an actual 90-91 si harness to correct this. Before I do so does anybody have any suggestions?
