Default Progress Suspension Civic at Fed-EX Autocross

I just wanted to rave about the new Progress Competition Coilover set-up on my 93 Civic DX I just installed and with and eyeball alignment, no corner weighting and 3 year old Potenza RE-71s (195-55-14) ran incredibly well yesterday at Fed-Ex field SCCA autocross. I believe I finished 3rd in STS, however I had a ride along for 3 or the 4 runs and coned away my fastest one.

The suspension system included Progress' new Heim jointed adjustable rear sway bar 24-26mm as well and the car set-up at 5 inch ride height absolutely devoured slaloms and rotated in a phone booth but was entirely predictable with a clean rear breakaway which allowed me to practically lift, and floor it for each and every corner. I can't remember the car ever pushing in any of the off camber corners or 180 degree turnarounds. The harder I pounded the car, the better the suspension felt. It seemed like I was saying, after every corner "Oh I coulda gone alot faster there.." My ride alongs couldn't believe the flat transitions, and slalom speeds with no bouncing even on the old soft sidewall tires. Well seasoned autocrossers remarked about how the car looked like it wasn't even trying.

The limiting factor was most definitely the old tires and my comfort level with the new set-up. It was loose but very fast... I have the Kuhmo MXs and 15X7 slips ready to use following a proper alignment and corner weighting which should be even more .

Thanks to Silvio at Progress for helping me with my numerous questions. I can't recommend this set-up or Silvio enough.!!!

What kind of suspension are you using? You know progress makes a great set-up for Classics along with adjustable sway bars.

Custom made, with 8611 inserts. I called Progress when I was deciding early this year and they weren't offering the B13 suspension yet. And as far as I know, they still aren't.

Huh. I've heard that. *looks under car* Oh, yeah, they are nice pieces. But I have a feeling the 21 mm rear won't be big enough...

Yeah they are offering the Coilovers. If the rear bar is not big enough, just up those rates and tire pressures If you have questions call Silvio at progress. Tell him George sent you and ask about the coilovers.

Not an optimal solution but it's cheaper than making a custom one.

Pics? How is the effective diameter of the bar adjustable?

The end links adjust the rigdity of the bar to be effectively a 26mm non-adjustable.

Pics are available at http://www.progressauto.com under the catalogue section pertaining to sway bars. It is the 3rd from the left showing the adjustable end links.

So it's more or less just like the Comptech eg/dc/ek kit, right? And not like the Comptech RSX kit that was adjusted in the center of the bar (geratol has one on his car , too)?

How much is it?

Take some pics of it on the car.

It mounts just like the Comptech except the end links are adjustable HEIM joints.

What spring rates are you currently running? I see you said they revalve, I am assuming they offer pretty much any spring rate in 50lb increments you could want as well?

I am running 550 in the front with a 24 mm GSR front sway and 650 in the rear with the aforementioned adjustable rear bar. Yes, they can custom valve for just about any spring rate.

Saw it. But that thread wasn't there when I posted. And, I believe, no one has actually seen that suspension. Talk/Group Buy threads are cheap.
