There were a few problems but it went pretty smooth. I did have to hacksaw my old e-brake cables to get them out due to the mounting bracket screws being stripped but I got through it. Had some fenderwell rubbing but tucked up the fenderwells and got some coilovers to fix the problem. Oh well. Nothing goes perfectly smooth.....

not trying to start something here...but shouldn't the title of your page say : drum to disc conversion and not the other way around? I don't mean to offend you, if I did...i'm sorry. Just thought to point that out. Lata.

Put rear disc on my 88 Hb. Used parts from a 99 Civic Si. Fit perfectly.

I dropped the gas tank down out of the way-it made it easier. Also,my swap came fom a 90 Teg,so the E-brake cables were a little long but I tucked them into the front of the trailing arms and they're all good for now-but I WOULD like to find some 90-91 CRX E-brake cables. If anyone has any,hit me!Thanks!

I had those e-brake cables and they didn't fit on my car at all, they were way to short. I read some info and got one for a 90-93 teg ls and they fit perfect, mounted in the same locations and everything.

91sifreak-from the looks of your avatar, you have a hatch-that's probably why those CRX E-brake cables were too short. If you still have them I would like to buy them from you.....

ok after doing some research and browsing on this topic. my question is....when converting your rear drum to disc.....does it perform all at the same time (front & rear brakes) when stepping on the brake pedal? or you have to pull the e-brake up?? i want to convert my rear drum to disc too for safety when slowing down if it performs the same as the front.i have ordered brembo cross drilled rotors already for my front ones for $100 and thinking about converting my rear drum to disc.

I'm using 90 Integra rear trailing arms/brakes, and they felt better than my stock 9" hf rear drums. However if you plan on doing the Energy suspension trailing arm bushings good luck. Alot of muscle had to be put into it to get it to bolt back in. When I got my 90 CRX aligned at Sears the tech had a buddy help him adjust the rear toe. Any ways I have 90 teg brakes on all fours and the stopping power is a big difference from my Jesus (HF) brakes. When it was stock I was praying to the lord that I'd stop in time. peace Bryan

i dont mean to be stupid though..but my question is..... when stepping on the brake pedal...does all 4 brakes work or just the 2 front ones?do you have to pull the e-brake up for the rear to work???sorry but i cant seem to picture it because i never really got into on how to convert brake drom to disc.

Your car works on a 70% / 30% brake level. 70% of the braking power is on the front while 30% powers the rear.

Don't forget about the change in CG when braking hard. "Nosedive" certainly plays a role in rear braking effectiveness. Unload the rear suspension when braking hard and you'll have less than 30% braking in the rear.

On those "how to" instructions, I'd recommend using the correct brake line fitting tool instead of a crecent wrench.

I've also got a "how to" EF drum to disc page. It's been up for 3 years now...
