Btec Places 2nd at 1st race
Shawn, better know as yeah LS, debuted his LS race car yesterday at the new CA Speedway infield roadcourse.
Congrats to your 2nd place
The sc00by should look familiar to the regular SCC readers
Going really fast down the front straight!
The trophy
Oh, I found that crazy honkay up to his high jinx - jajaja!
yoshi - who didn't get home till 1am last night

Congrats to yeah ls(Sandor Bota) for a job well done!
Oh yeah, Yoshi forgot to mention that including our cars there were about 7 ITR's there and 3 of em' were on the road course.

Although I had a good time watching the races and hanging out w/ some g00d flends, I want to be in the driver's seat t00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yoshi - who just might have to reconsider selling #234 and go mix it up w/ andy and btec

the sanctioning body was TCRA (www.touringcarclub.com). the NASA boys wanted to get in the mix and take advantage of a new track so they joined us. it was a lot of fun. last night i thought about it. i didnt have to go to USTCC or speedvision, they came to me! it was a blast driving against cars that compete at teh higher levels.
anway the b20 vtec is a beast. i have many bugs to work out tho, and with 2 year old track tires, i dont think the car did that bad. the wing wasnt on the car because parts werent ready from the anodizers
the track was pretty tight, hard to pass in the quick right-lefts and left-rights.
thanks to all who attended and supported:
M'gineering-Mario is a great member to the crew(thanks for the garage sat night)
the girlfriend- Dawnie kept me fed and watered
I love you!
the highskoo homie-Aly carrot man gotta love him
the neighbor-Ruben has helped me out building this car
and all the yeah LS supporters:
brian an monica, yoshi and 234, fias, kelly and alison, athas, lloyd, rares and chrissy.
special thanks to RO JA Engineering for support and parts. STOPTECH brakes were awsome.

Congrats Shawn. I have to admit that I was underestimating the power and reliability of the "btec". I am going to have to do some weight reduction before the next event in December at Willow Springs -- though I don't think I can even come close to the btec weight

great job out there, dude... congrats on the 2nd place finish..
it was fun going out there with everyone else and watching..
woulda been lots more fun racing but we're not all that hardcore yet.. especially kelly.. (: haha.. jast kidding.. (nice puddle in front of "the carrot" in the pic, dude!
)
anyhow.. looks like the last half of the ride home on the 10 went ok and glad to be part of the "escort" trying to block the noise outta the 'yeah LS'... haha
EDIT: Fixed tons o' typos.. cannot type today..

All the h-techies who came out in support of "btec"
From the top...ITRbroham, Speedpak, Z06, GTS ACR, Yoshi234, M3 roadster (w/ funky rollbars) and AoiGSR
Ingenious & inexpensive camera mount.
Bota-san with the
ready to go.

Getting through the turn where everyone and their moms went wide into the dirt. Shawn followed by a RHD 98+ spec ITR and Andy in the yellow ITR.

Shawn and Andy racing down the front straight.

It was a good race, I wished the car would have been free from glitches though
I think even Andy had a little problem with one of his tire, valve stems broke making him miss a few practice laps. On to the next one

Oh yeah congrats to Andy for winning the darn race! And I even got to shake his hand! Woohoo!
Those are some phat pics, SS DC2! I especially like the first two. In that pic at the top you prolly can't tell but I am being held up by an Audi A4 with 3 people in it!
I wanted to pass but didnt want to get in trouble!
Lloyd~ who thinks the btec sounded awesome in the in-car cam video!

MR cars were in attendance

Probably the best MR on the track (He was kind of slow actually)

Raced out 355 w/ full carbon fiber rear wing, showing some "battle scars".

A new meaning to "EURO-TAILIGHTS" C5 w/ euro spec, non US spec tailights.

This fast Race Viper rely on STOPTECH calipers to go 100mph-0.

Brand NEW Pors-sha turbo, sitting pretty.

Team PENSKE getting ready for the CART season finale in Fontana.

oh yeah, an ingenious way to jack up your low car

This is welded onto the roll cage. a "Y" shape is constructed and welded on. I am sure yoshi can provide a visual with this
fine, here's my rendition of the jack point on the Subaru.

Lets not forget the third place finisher, Dennis Suggs. Dennis runs a 92-93 Integra and is a damn good driver. He was right behind me for over half of the race. Luckily, I was able to lose him in lap traffic during the race -- and he managed to spin near the end (doh!) of the race.
Man, I didn't realize that I was such an ogre.

Andy, whose wife would probably **** if she saw this pic

I don't have any pics of his car. But he had the following modifications...
ITR motor and tranny.
6-point custom cage.
Hoosiers (drool)
larger diameter front and rear brake rotors.
and gutted of course.
