Default Yet another EG.....

Well this is my first time postin my car up. 92 dx w/y7 with a z6 intake manifold, ls TB, hf mani and WRX turbo, dsm 1st gen BOV and SMIC, Vortech12:1 FMU, ghetto fish tank check valves! AGX's and S-tech spring with ebay front strut bar, and OBX rear strut bar. Rear quarter owned by WI winters and the lbs of salt they pour on the roads! The pics are not the greatest(i dunno whats up with my camera) THe whole setup cost me roughly 450.

The ghetto fab turbo set up!

And whats waiting to go in. D15bvtec(needs new pistons), ACT 6 puck, ACT prolite flywheel, 929 ITB(just need to make a plenium for it), Saab T3, Saab blackstone SMIC, SSautocrap exhaust manifold(not in the picture).

and the wife's car 03' ZX3 with just a CAI and catback and Enkei CDR9's(needs a drop! She knows). Gotta love a woman who loves cars!

and me! The power of the MIG welder!

well.. props for your ghetto turbo.

Did you do the welding yourself, make your own tubing, etc ?

If you did, then yea thats cool. But **** man, thats really sloppy looking if you paid someone else to do it. What about mounting the ic in the fender well, or make it a fmic, say cut out the left air vent, weld it over thier. Little colder air/better flow. Breather valve(hehe) cute.

Hell yeah! Welded that **** all by me self Had some turbo probe charge pipes and some other pipe that was found in my garage! The dsm smic wouldn't fit behind the bumper with out modding the tanks or tubes. Plus the saab smic is better. Took about 8 hours to put on about three weeks ago. Stock clutch is slipping now, so the lead foot is gonna have to lose some lbs.

This is more tech than show-off, so guys please hold off withnthe reports to me and flames, etc.

So how does the car pull now?

What do you hope to gain by going with yhe new engine and SAAB turbo gear as opposed to the Scooby stuff?

I understand that the SCooby turbo is pretty small, right? What size/trim is it?

The WRX turbo is tiny, but it pulls pretty good. I just picked up the T3 to work on the new manifold and the wrx turbo has this goofy triangle 3 bolt flange and the wastegate actuator is crushed and I'm having a hard time finding a new one. So the turbo setup should be in the FI classifieds pretty soon. THe engine has 20 more horses than the y7 and it's jDm yO! Plus it's cam is better than the z6's and if I slap it onto the 1.6 block it'll be better than the 127 hp than with the d15b block. I only paid 200 for the engine from a guy here on HT.

Also the head of the d15b will just get used since I just took it out and the headgasket is going and checked the dipstick and it was slightly cloudly and puffin out some smoke now. Well that just makes it sooner that I installed everyting else.

You need a title change to "Junkyard Dog."

See at first I was gonna build up the d15b to be all-motor and now that I'm boosted it too hard to turn back! The GTI-R's have the setup so what the hell since I have the parts why not use em'!

total for that setup I spent 500 at the most. I have basically another kit that I picked up in the past week for 200. I got a t3 off a saab and a ssautochrome exhaust manifold from a guy here for 75 and a saab blackstone smic and chargepipes and bov.

It's dirty from all the **** I'm ripping up with the turbo being on! clean cars are so overrated! the turbo and intercooler in the pic cost me 70. Our pick n pull junkyards only charge 50 for any turbos and charge piping and small **** to go along with it.
