Default WWW.SMASPEED.COM???

Anyone ever heard of them? Anyone ever bought anything from them. I am looking to buy a JDM rear upper strut bar possibly from them, and I am wondering if anyone has heard anything about this company, or had any dealings with them.

Also, is it true that JDM Type-R's come with rear upper strut bars, stock? That is what I was told...but I am not sure.

Any help would be more than appreciated. Thanks!

It's optional equipment made by Honda Access of Japan. Mike @ IPS Racing has them on special for like 175. Best price I've found.

I know, I have talked to Mike before. I just got a price of $155 + $12 shipping...not from Mike though.

Front strut bar for... "Our price: $79.95" sounded a bit fishy.

Default TypeRmsm

How can you tell the difference? What leads you to believe that they look fake? They have a few postings on the eBay, and that is where I found the bar. The person that I talked to through e-mail that is selling the bar said that he gets them directly from the manufacturer that makes the bars. They come disassembled, which I found hard to believe. I could post the link to the bar that I found at eBay, but here at work they won't allow us access to eBay.

TypeRmsm, do you get your bars directly from Honda (OE JDM part)? Any info you can post is more than welcome.

Thanks

Tell you what 2 ways you can see if its real
1. ask for a part # then call me and I will tell you if it matches
2. ask for them to take a pic of the side of the bar itself, It should look like the one below, Fakes usually dont have the middle Brace in the tubing.
and Yes I get them From Honda Japan, They are an accessory piece known as Honda Access.

Do you still have the upper rear strut bar in stock?, how much?, and what mode of payment do you accept?

Also how do I set it up like Benjamin Tang's rear upper strut bar? sorry Ben I am inserting your setup. It looks so clean.

Maybe this will open the eyes a bit, as there is LOTS of fake JDM stuff out there, from CTR headlights to strut bars. If they cant furnish you a part number or if it does not come in a factory box, assume it is not legit. It also helps to develop trust in a few businesses. Also, most of the time, if the price seems too good to be true...

Default Ok...

Like you guys said, I will ask them for a part number and pictures of the bar. Plus I will post the site on eBay where I saw them selling the bar. If they can't supply enough information, then most likely I will be calling or IM you soon TypeRmsm.

Although, on the eBay selling page that the bar is on, in the comments it says they will answer all questions that someone may have. But who knows, like it was said before, maybe it is a fake JDM piece and they are just giving out factory part numbers. We'll see soon.

Don't bother if your concerned about $20. Buy it from Mike and you'll have the piece of mind knowing that you will not get ripped off.

I had doubts once about buying an OEM shift **** from someone (Grace Han) and I followed through with a sale. Ended up getting ripped off by being shipped a knockoff for $90. Just pay the extra and buy it through a reputable company, not some fly by night ebay auction or internet site. Just my .02. Luck!

Default TypeRmsm

Well, here is the link...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=596722589

And here are the two replies that I got back from the guy that is selling the bar...

The bar comes disassembled when shipped to you.. It is very simple to install, the only difficult part is cutting your covers, however we are the only ones with the correct Template and detailed instructions.. Also we are a legitimate Business, with a Licensed Installation Facility so you are welcome to contact us with any questions.
This Bar is made 100% in Japan and we purchase direct from the manufacturer.. It is not a honda part. It is the JDM Type R Rear Upper..And it does come in its original box, but again, we purchase directly, bypassing honda, so it is not in a honda box..if that is what you are asking..
You can also purchase replacement strut covers should you make a mistake, and they are inexpensive.. Our Detailed Instructions are very helpful and will help you avoid any mistakes..
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time

And...

They are both made by the same Manufacturer, we purchase direct and cut
out the middle man, honda.. And this allows us to sell to you at a
discounted price. Also if you purchase both Front and Rear from us, the
pair are only $179.00 and only $15.00 for shipping.. The rear bar only
is $165.00 Shipped to you..
Thanks

Michael

So, does anyone have any comments, suggestions? I am going to e-mail him about the part number for the rear bar and see if it is the same as the one Mike at IPSracing.com sells.

Its BS Closer to the real thing (looks) than most replicas
But 3 ways I can tell
1. ITR sticker not real one
2. the templates dont have those inner cutouts on them
3. He is SOOO Full of BS that he cuts the Middle man out The company making the braces its part of Honda, Also even of Honda was a middle man there is no way in hell the manufacturer would sell the same bar to anyone else but Honda.

Both Statements are Complete and utter BS

If you havent noticed I hate these Ebay scammers who try to pass off Knock off parts as the real deal.

Default But...

Now I am worried. I bought a Type-R upper front strut bar that came off this guys wrecked Type-R in Texas. Bought it on eBay (don't hate me, I was a newbie to the scene then!). Anyway, can anyone tell me if it looks fake, or is it the real thing?

No Honda boxes look that pretty. All I have seen (one of these days I am sure I will talk to a Shrink about them and the Spoon boxes coming to get me) are plain brown and quite ugly. There are so many people out there wanting to rip you off, it's sad! There are only a few places I will even send a customer to if I don't have something. Mike (IPS) is definitely one of them!

Well... wanna know what's funny?

My girlfriend bought an ITR front brace on ebay as a birthday present sometime last year. I'm confused on what you guys think is real or not.

The box that it came in was the colorful pictured in this post BUT there was a blue "Genuine Honda Parts" label with the part number on it. Also....my sticker looks exactly like the one shown here:

My sticker doesn't look like the cheap ones pictured in this post, can someone clarify this for me?

Oh yeah, my girlfriend got it for around 100 bucks... isn't that the going price for the front upper strut brace?
