Shes Aliveeeeeeeee Once more ;o)
Finally after a mth and a half of hard work, carefull build up, a lots of money, the new engine is built and ready to inhale some boost
After trowing a rod on January i went and bought another D16Z6
carefully inspected it and was a great donator since it had 160k miles and it was never messed with
A big thanxs to Steve Colletti, owner and master tuner from http://www.collettimotorsports.com for all the hookup and time gaven to me in order to make this happen
This engine was built woth Boost on mind... setup consist off?
D16Z6 Block Bored 0.040 over and tapered for less engine power loss and notched for rod clearance
D16Z6 VTEC head mild port polish and milled
New valves
New valve guides
3 Angle valve job
JE pistons 9.1:1
JE pistons rings gapped to 0.017 and 0.015
Eagle H beam Rods with ARP 2000 bolts
Polished crank
COMP CAM stage 2 (59300)
D16Y8 intake manifold ported and polished
Edelbrock Pro-Lite Fuel rail
MSD 6 BTM ignition
AEM Truetime Adj. Cam Gear
VAFC hack
450cc DSM injectors (waiting to be installed once turbo is in)
Exedy Stage 1 organic clutch
and some pics to update the situation

what throttle body are you using? Y8...
also thats an interesting way to plug in the IAT...
just so you know the OBD2 style IAT is the exact same as the OBD0 one...just a different plug and body style. i measured the resistances at different temperatures and they are the amount of error between the two is the same as between 2 OBD0 IATs. im just letting you know cause it might fit in there better than the old style.

im using the Z6 throtle body
the IAT is temporary there
i need to put it into my intake air flow to read appropiate...
and i am using that post where it is now to obtain a vacum and boost source for my BOV and boost gauge

whatever they are i hope they wont be on there for too long
looks nice, how long will this one last?
also how much will you be boosting. and when everyone says vafc hack thats just the vtec air fuel controller right not some ecu software.

Wow Im ver impressed. Thats good to see the D series getting some treatment, that they should be. So many people look past the D series and dont think twice about doing anything to it, good to still see them alive!

Im sure it was an econo build, so there is no need for extra work like that.
if you dont minde me asking, what are you doing with your headers after you get the JY turbo on?

econo build?? with all the parts that he used and the work to the head etc? it doesnt cost alot to either clean it or hot tanked it .. and get the new seals u might need to replace .. it just time consuming (sorta) .. but thats just me

it was indeed hot tanked at the machine shop
its very clean... just has the shadows from where it leaked before
the engine was not abused , but has bad leak of oil from previous owner and it just soaked into the block material...
the head looks good because it got sandblasted
i was thinking of danblasting the block... but ran out of sand

.04" oversize is pretty big! Especially on stock sleeves... But nobody has ever really built up a D-series like they do B-series motors, so who knows what will happen when the boost hits the cylinders?
I just hope the overbore isn't too much for your setup, I'd really hate to see you blow that block.
Either way, it looks WAY nice bro! Major props!!!
I can't wait to drop off my project Z6 block at the machine shop. Don't worry everyone, I'll be taking some before and after pics!
Good luck USDM 4G! Keep us informed when you boost it.
