B16A2 swap in to LSI. Latvia, Europe.
Hi!
Did that swap in to 3 days. And working 10 hours in day on that car.
Do some pics during the swap. I saw more cleen swaps like mine, but iput my atention on tehnical side of that swap. firs of all I decaide not to looking in to engine saerch, but buy the all car VTI 1992 sedan 2500$. In this way I know that I have all parts.
Not only did the engine swap.
Did the brake swap. Brakes was in terible condition.
Repair the staring wheel system.
Start some body work.
So, there is some pics an expalaining:
1.This is that sedan:

2.The cleaned B16A2, the front of valvecover have salt corusion, the salt are using in our country in the winters on the roads, this metods of road cleanig KILL our cars:

3.The first old problem was stearing wheel system failure, oil leaking. So, repairing was wery inportant for me. After repair, like a new. But today I start to ride and seems like to hard is steering wheel in torning. Maybe after repair it must be like that.

4. I swaped rear disks last summer. Front was LSI D=240 mm till now. Now I have the VTI D=262 mm brake disks. Here is pics of difference LSI and VTI.

The VTI front brake disk just instaled.

5. The B16A2 gear box is total different as on D series engines. We do some mix with shift beams. Rear gear shift beam stays LSI stock and front gear beam was from VTI. The D series mount location on gearbox is in different places as on B series gear box. Up one is from B series gearbox, that comes on my car.

6. Before instaling the engine we wash the motor area.
7. Engine allmoust in the place.
8. When everythinhg are in place.
We use the original engine ECU, motor and under dash board wiring. And it the first time when we did the swap and was no any mistakes in wiring, no codes and engine start in first ignition key torn. Congrats to my mechanic.
Hope that info help to somebody. The swap is easy when you have all the parts.
P.S.
Last night I was on "FUN LOVIN' CRIMINALS" concert here in Latvia in our capital Riga. I newer think that there is so COOL GUY's in NEW YORK city. They was great. Hope to see them again on stage, here in our side.

Engine from 92 year sedan. Sadly but there is not 160 Hp in side. Ask to my friend with CRX do some streetrace run. You know, I'm waiting for something special, but nothing like that.
That mean engine not in so good condition. The good thing is that I have 99 B20Z1 engine, and start to prepare the block for B16A2 head. Have pics. Post later.
I know that my English not so well but I'm trying.

Your english has improved alot from your first thread with the swap info, congratulations, you should be very proud! The car looks great and will be a real fast machine with the b20 inside. Continue the good work and say HI to all in Riga from a freind in Canada!

Here some mo pics from the swap.
B20Z1 block, changing the bearings. The interesting thing was with bearings. order new ones. Crunck bearings was OK but rod bearings was different. So, we start to search what was the problem. Problem are in codes when ordering. Those bearings can be used on other engines too. So, the part delivery company decaide that the my engine is the same as prelude B20A engine, and send wrong bearings.

In proces of swap and service where it was done. Servise is quite big, 8 car lifts. Have big warehouse with new and used parts. That service working only with Mitsubishi Galant and Honda Civic models. The good think was that they buy from me that sedan for parts after the swap.

The new brakes on.

I was wrote about my accident a mounth aback when some Nissan Patlor doing the parking and did not see me. The resaullt is on the picture. Dameged front horizontal bar. That part not expensive, made in Taiwan 23$ but it worth that. I can't imagine if my car don't have it. Patrol is wery heavy car.
Here are two vids from swap. Not sure if it works.

So, something scares me. Engine run as normal till 8200 rews. But don't move as I wan't. Run with D16y8 hatch. He kill me like I have under my hood some 1.3 carb. engine.
I have the stock d15 exaust system on it still. The old engine drinking the oil 2 lites in months. So, maybe the ctatlyc is full with unburned oil.
Have the stock mufler from d15 too. The mufler end tube d=30 mm.

Today change the brake oil distributor from original to Mitsubishi Galant. Now I have the same oil presure to all of brake calipers. Front have on dyno 2.5 points and rear 1.5 points of brake power. Old one dose not work like that. Front was 2 points rear 0.8 points. I have new brake pads allready run 1 month.
That one dose not work:
Now I start to feel real VTI brake power with Motul brake oil.
