Well i was coming home from getting my taxes done with my 7 month pregnant sister in the passengar seat coming through an interesction, keep in mind my light was green. and a jeep decides he wants to make a right turn on his red light to head in the same direction as me clipping my front end slinging me into oncoming traffic. Thank god the car in the oncoming lane was paying attention and barely had enough time to stop before he hit me head on. Then the guy gets out saying he is sorry and its his fault and he didnt see me, so im thinking the issue on whose fault it is should be really easy since all im doing is going through a green light. well all in all my sister had to spend the night in the hospital alsmot having to have an emergency sea section done, while i have sprained knee and a cracked tailbone . and after contacting his insurance company about a rental car, i found out he is trying to say he was in my lane and i tried to pass him in the middle of an intersection and swerved back hitting him, but thank god i have 2 witnesses that were around the scene and testified he hit me, but the cop said he didnt know if was going to write me a ticket or not, and im thinking for what. But i will know friday when i get the police report, but my car is totaled, atleast thats where the shop they towed to is saying.

Oh one question i have is, since my car is considered totaled, and if it comes out to be his fault which i dont know how it wont. If i have receipts for everything will i be reimbursed? thanks guys

Did you have full coverage insurance? When my car was stolen I was reimbursed for all the stolen goods, I had reciepts for everything and full coverage insurance.

Stupid drivers are everywhere, not just in Jeeps. Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope your sister is OK.

 

That sux man i like your sticker on the back window though.

 

Plz buy that car back from insurance and salvage it or at least part it out.


Edit: unless theres significant frame damage I don't see why that'd be totaled. unless its only insured for book, in which case you wont get dick for it unless they wanna give you money for mods you have receipts for...

I really don't think it would be totaled though, it's just a fender. If it is, just buy it back and buy a used fender cheap.

I do not think it will be totaled. It looks like it is just the skin to the fender and a rim. Maybe some suspension work.

The guy wouldnt write me an estimate telling me how much it would be to fix, he just wrote in his opinion it is a total loss. the only part the worries me is the bottom part of the car where the sideskirt is, is shoved forward against the tire as you can barely see in the pics, so im gonna have to get somebody to check it. I only have liability, so im hoping his insurance will reimburse me for my receipts and then i plan on buying it back and parting it out, the bad part is the car was pretty much sold, 3 more days and the guy was giving me the cash for it. I'm in the process of getting a lawyer so me and my sister can get some pain and suffering money because im also im missing work b/c im on crutches and in a knee brace. Thanks for the compliments on the sticker, i was still debating whether or not to keep it on, but i got bored and got my friend to make it. Thanks for all of the support though guys, i never though i'd feel so shitty from just losing a car

hmmmmmmm good point warwagon, oh yea my g/f had the crutches beating the **** out of his jeep on the other side of the lot , just kidding. He got to drive his pos home, that really pissed me off.

how do you have a cracked tailbone and sprained knee from that? it doesn't look like that much of a collision. not to sound like a dick, but it just doesn't look bad. i guess that's why most posts have been confused about how it could be totaled.

 

The main reason why i think they said it is totaled is because the bottom area of the car is shoved forward against the tire, but i dont know im just going by what the body shop guy said. I know it doesnt look bad, he didnt hit me directly with his front end, it was more or less at an akward angle i was going straight down the lane and he knocked us sideways and going through the other lane and then some into a gas station parking lot. About my knee, it got hung between the clutch and the brake and was shoved into the dash. I'm about 6'4 with long *** legs so thats how that happend. As far as the tailbone i have no clue how it happened from the wreck, but the wreck is what caused it, i mean i've never had any lower back pains and they took 10+ x-rays and started poking around and come up with thats where the pain is from when i sit straight up in a chair and lay down on my back and stuff, so i honestly dont know how it happened. I also had to have a catscan done b/c i hit my head on the side window and blacked out for a second or two, causing some bad whiplash, i know it doesnt look bad from the pics but it was a pretty damn rough ride, lol.

Thanks for all of the good luck comments to my sister, its very appreciated. You guys are starting to give me a little hope that it may not be totaled, but the sad part is i might be able to come out on top if it is totaled if the insurance company reimburses me for my receipts. b/c i was only getting 4200 for the car from the guy that was going to buy it.

So whats everybodys opinion on whether or not his insurance might reimburse me for my reciepts since he is at fault? thanks again
