This is the story. I saw this guys post regarding a rebuilt LS block https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=733585. As you can see, sale is pending Anyway, I IM him on AIM on JAN 27, 2004 about the block and made an offer of $600 shipped. He agreed. He sends me pics of the block. Looks good. I asked what type of payment he accepts and says that he is just taking money orders for now. I asked him if he took paypal and he said NO. However, he agreed to check with his friend to see if he can use his paypal account. I was cool with it and told me he will get back to me later that day. Unfortunately, I get an email from him saying his friend doesn't have a paypal account no more. In light of that, I agreed to send him out a money order (my mistake ). I send him out the money order on JAN 20, 2004 through priority mail w/ delivery confirmation. here is the confirmation # for the MO: 03032460000236712742 As you can see:

I I'M him back on AIM and ask him if received the MO. He said yes and agreed to send out the block. He emails me back on the JAN 28, 2004 and tells me that my block has been shipped out and gave me a USPS tracking number: 0303 1290 0000 5557 8464 As it turns out, the tracking number he gave was for an item getting shipping out to California and I live in New Jersey

ACCEPTANCE, January 26, 2004, 2:20 pm, DAVENPORT, FL 33837

after this, I email him back regarding the tracking number. I told him that the tracking number is wrong and it was getting shipped out to CA and I live in NJ. From this point im ******* pissed off. I see him online that day and IM him about the situation. he tells me that he must have given me the wrong tracking number and he'll check his car for the receipt later. He also apologizes for what happened . Unfortunately, he doesn't get back to me about my tracking number . Then on FEB 5, 2004, i get an email from him and says that he got a message on his machine from "James" in CA. Supposedly, "James" denied the package sent to him and that the block is being sent back to Stephen Man. He then apologizes again. I told myself, this is real ******* bullshit. After all this, I emailed him back and calmly told to just send it out when he gets it back. I wait for another week, I don't hear anything from him. I finally get in contact with him on FEB 14, 2004. I ask him about the block and tells me he just got it in. I said cool, when are you sending out? he tells me he will send it out WEDNESDAY FEB 18, because thats his "day off" . He tells me to email him back my address. I email him back all my info and after that, never heard from him again. I wait till Wednesday, to see if he did send my block out...nothing. I email a couple more times, nothing. I even IM him online...doesn't even respond. DAVID T. ASTBURY/HYBRIDNA IS A ******* *****. So im out $600 . Thats a lot of money.

for $600 cancel it from the instituion you bought it from.

in order to do that, go to your local police station, file some fraud papers. you'll be out some time and perhaps a $25 banking fee but it's better than $600.

I feel for you man.. but just be glad you aint out $2,000.00 llike I am for a complete swap I never got from a Mr Aron Frost. The worst part is he's in jail now and I can't do crap about it

 

Its really stupid, but he just IM trying to sell me some alternator brackets i've been trying to locate. Don't think i'm gonna send him any money. He's got that ad still up and I've been reading all over about how he's a scammer. Sad state of affairs here on H-T.

Yeah he was supposed to sell me those brackets until I saw this post. I was literally about to walk out the door and get a money order. Boy am I glad I looked his name up. Only reason I did that was cuz the name Steve Man sounds a little suspicious, and he didn't even give me a last name when I asked for his address, I had to ask again. What a ******. Guess I have to look elswhere for a hard to find item. Damn!

 

i will be in davenport next week. anyone local to see if we can go get this money or ship the damn block ourselves. I can pick it up for you and ship it back when i am there. let me know

 

So the first time it was shipped it took 8 days, and then 9 days after it was "shipped" again, hopefully to the right address, you post a scammer thread.

yeah ill let you know...this *** cashed my money order already...but i requested a statement from usps regarding the money order (his name, address, which bank he cashed it at, the person who signed the money order, etc.)...ill be getting it in a few days...man, i want to slap the **** out of this ************

That son of a bitch took me for $550 for a tranny I bought off of him a month ago. I sent him a postal money order as well and he did the same **** to me. "shipped to wrong address...waiting on return"

he cashed my money order already..so the only thing i can do is request a money order receipt of who signed/ cashed the money order. im still waiting for it in the mail.

 

have you done a mail fraud complaint? you can do that here: https://www.usps.com/postalins...t.htm Also, call your local postal inspector to send you a mail fraud form. The more people that complain about this guy the more that will get done.
