Overall better performance throughout most of the RPM range plus overall quality is better. Search around here and check out the welds on the comptech header, very top notch.

 

posts like these always makes me want to go out and buy a comptech one........and ditch my dc.......honda-tech already convinced me to ditch my aem cai and get the comptech as well!!! good goin guys! LOL

get a greddy stainless steel 4-2-1 and call it a day

that question can only be answered by you.. how much do you want to spend vs how much power do you really want?

 

I had a DC header on my SI and a comptech on my gsr. Honestly I never thought DC was crap until I came here. I cant really comment on the gains but you usually get what you pay for. I would go with comptech.

Hell I did go with comptech. I have comptech I/H and an ITR exhaust

 

I've only had experience with the Comptech 4-2-1 header, but I can tell you that it's a very quality piece, and I'd choose it over DC any day. It gives decent gains all through the RPM range, and looks like some care was put into making it. It's also a nice touch to the engine bay.

I love my comptech header. well worth the money considering the ss dc header is about $400 anyway, comptech ss tig header is about $460.

i just ordered my comptech...and i cant wait...both to put it/just stare at it for a few weeks in my room!! doooo it!! ditch the ****!

 

comptech is worth it if you have the $$$, otherwise dc is ok

wouldnt say DC is "crap", but not the quality of comptech.

 

It all depends upon which particular model of DC header you're referencing. If your talking about the basic 4-2-1 then yeah it pretty much sucks. However the DC JDM 4-1 flows incredibly well. Check out Titan Motorsports header test and you'll see. I do have to admit that the quality of the Comptech does surpass any of the DC's that I've seen though.

 

hey ya dc is a pretty good header too but it depend on tha person on wat he wants ... for me both of those are good enough already i give them two

Im not saying DC is crap. Sorry if that was misleading. I thought it was a good piece until I came here and had everyone tell me it is crap. I hardly hear good things about it.

The DC header I had on my Si made a noticeable difference to me and when I took it off the header was in GREAT condition.

I agree, and here's a good post about a DC header, I am quite happy with mine. But as said earlier, you get what you pay for, DC is good whereas comptech is great.

 

Imo DC 4-2-1 f!#$$@ sucks its cracking down the middle of where the 4 meets 2 suXors my friends is doing same go with comptech.....

 

yea if i go all motor, i would definately get Comptech...for 200 bucks more why not invest in sumthin more worthwhile, better resale valvue too lol

is that made from ceramic or SS?

 

yeah because if its ss it shouldnt crack

 

hmmmmm, looks like from readin this thread im ditching my AEM and DC header for comptech.......

now isnt there 2 different comptech intakes? is the icebox the better of the two? sorry if im jackin the thread........
