JDM /DC2 Sidemarker Install question
I have a pair of the JDM DC2 sidemarkers. I was wondering if anyone out there could run me through the install on USDM fenders. Does anyone know where I can download a cut-out? Any help is appreciated.

yep I just replaced my imitation OEM sidemarkers w/ genuine OEM Stanley sidemarkers, the fit is like night and day difference!
Here's the pic I made:

I think in reality that 3/4" measurement is more like 1/2".
I also have a diagram showing the exact measurements of the cutout, but I can't find it on my computer at the moment.
What I did was remove the fenders from my car (actually I did the driver side one on my new black fender before installing it), drew the diagram at actual size in AutoCad and printed it out, then taped it to the BACK of the fender in the correct location. Then I used an Xacto to cut the paper diagram along the lines, which left score lines in the backside of the fender sheetmetal. Then I drilled a hole and used my metal nibbler from Radio Shack to make the hole.
When I made the holes on my old fenders, I was cutting from the back of the fender, having the nibbler poke thru to the front. Unfortunately this made a little paint chip off near the edges of the holes. On these fenders I made the marks for the hole on the backside so that I could stick the nibbler thru from the front and follow it along the lines on the backside so that it wouldn't chip the paint off. I put down masking tape on the front so the nibbler wouldn't scratch the paint, although my fenders need to be painted anyway so it didn't matter that much. HTH, I'll try to find the hole measurements.

I'm just learning it, still not very fast at it. I have been using FormZ (mostly modelling, some drafting) in school, and I used Microstation for drafting at the office I worked at in Nashville for my year-long co-op job. I got to be pretty good at Microstation, but then again I was taught how to use that, working on real projects. I'm trying to teach myself AutoCad, just on school projects.
is it really safe to cut a DIY hol in your fender? i'd be kinda scared that if u cut a hole it would be vulnerable to paint chipping off more easily around the hole... what is the difficulty range for this type of a project..
well whatever you do be sure to use the same template measurements for both sides..

difficulty doesnt seem to hard, although i have not done it, im fortunate to have jdm front on my car and have the oem fenders with the holes already cut out -=D although it does sound fairly easy, and they look bad *** and still jdm status on the usdm front as the sir-g and integs in japan did in fact have the oem stanley corners as well, i say if u put sidemarkers the oem stanleys or none at all hope everything goes right with the install! dont be afraid to DIY saves time from not having ur car, money, and helps u gain knowledge, thats how i learned to do mechanical work, by trial and error =D

perhaps, but you should apply some primer or other type of touch-up paint to the edges of the metal anyway.
My fenders need to be painted anyway so I don't really care if the paint chips off.

The sidemarkers have 2 prongs, power and ground (doesn't matter which one is used for each). Just use female quick disconnects and then use splice connectors to attach to the turn signal wires.
My wheels are that Duplicolor Graphite wheel paint, see link in sig for details.
