Well after doing all kinds of paper work and all kinds of other stuff my JDM Si Integra is legal in the United States. She now has a US VIN number right under the Japanese VIN plate!!!! Right now the car is totally stock other than the rims which I took off my hatch while Im getting it ready for race season.

I was actually debating selling this before I got it legalized, I didnt think it would ever happen.....but now that it is who knows I may still sell it!







Let me know what you all think about prices and such, the whole car has been repainted flamenco black pearl it was originally the 94 integra black but I like the newer black better so I went with that. The body work is not perfect on it but we did it all in my driveway/garage. Overall it is in pretty good condition runs great and only has 45,000 miles on it when I convert the KMs to miles. It has power windows, AC, heat, power steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, Power windows, and power folding mirrors!

Like I said Im not really interested in selling but starting a new project is always fun.

Give me your opinions.

 

wow , very nice but where is the Si VTEC front lip? how long did it take you to register?

I traded another car that I was building for it a 96 cx hatch, Im not really sure how much my friend actually ended up paying, I know the car was less than shipping though which was kinda crazy but it took like 5 months to get here, the hatch was broken out on the boat so they replaced it with a JDM ITR one and that was Championship white when I got it. The Si lip was lost in shipment, I really need one!!!!!

I think the car had around $6500 in it just to get it over to the states, then I spent quite a bit getting it in the shape it is in now, then countless hours, trips to talk to judges, back and forth to the liscense branch sending papers and money to the state branch...getting police to sign for it, it was a pretty drawn out process all in all but now that it is done this thing is legal in any state, and the title is clean.

lucky? If you say so... I personally wouldn't want to deal with all those hassles, and then all the difficulties of driving on the right side of the car, on the right side of the road, etc. etc.

 

haha, if you only did it you would totally love it. I have never gotten so many looks driving down the road. People turn around when you drive by them and almost wreck, it is pretty crazy and fun if you ask me. It took me a couple weeks to get used to it but now I can drive it just like I drive on the other side. You would be amazed at how many more people ask to ride in this than even my b18c R hatch, which is a lot more fun of a ride.

 

are you sure they are looking at you in astonishment? Or just plain confused why the heck someone is driving on the wrong side?

IMO, its no more fun than riding in a left hand drive. Whats the difference really? Id rather ride in a USDM ITR than a JDM GSR.

Not hatin or anything. Its nice to see people committed to do something they want. But I just dont see the value in it.

 

Well when people pull up next to you and start asking all kinds of questions about it, or when you walk out of the movie theater and there are people around it taking pictures then it is probably more along the lines of astonishment.

To be really honest with you I really didnt even want the car, one of my friends bought it and lost interest and the trade was a no brainer for me. The RHD was actually a pain in the *** for me for a while and I actually was wishing it was LHD but now that Im used to it, it is a little different. Considering that most of the people on honda-tech try to replicate their cars to look like JDM cars it is pretty cool to actually have the real thing. And other than that it shows the work that 2 20 year old kids can do....

Back to the subject of this post, I know newman got something like $9000 for his and it wasnt even registered. Any ideas????

What do you do at bridge tolls and stuff. Your gonna be one hell of a

if anyone has or knows where I can get either the JDM Si lip or the reproduction carbon fiber spoon lip that is really hard to find that looks basically like the EG spoon lip rather than the way the lips for the 94's usually look. I saw one for sale on here one time and have never seen another one. Let me know.

toll roads kinda suck unless I have someone with me which I usually do since toll roads that I would come to would be on a road trip. The best is going through the drive of a fast food restaurant, reaching all the way over to get your food, or even at the bank. Other than that it really isnt as hard as people think. I actually think when you are driving on a road course or something it is easier because most people are right handed and that is the hand that stays on the wheel, that is what I have found out when I have been out playing around in it atleast.

yeah, I am pretty excited about it though because everyone always says it cant be done......

damn, i was just gonna mention that someone will want that for themselves. especially since you took the pain to get it legalized. nice having the factory fogs though. congrats. but, i agree...i would rather get a usdm ITR for the same amount of money and alot less time and effort put in.

i've driven a lhd car in britian before. that was interesting. we used to take the 190DT or the integra(when we lived there for a year) from germany to other countries that were either lhd or rhd. but, not a big deal in euroland.
