Norad Diffuser
We're almost done with the diffuser...Dejan Matic, a friend of mine from when I was on the UTA FSAE race team, did the design work. Dejan is incredible at aerodynamics. These pictures are taken at Decatur Machine and shows the machining of the plug that we're using to build the mold of the rear floor. I'll post more pics as we continue.

Re: Norad Diffuser (BoostingSnail)
This plug is used to build the mold off of. The outside of the wood will be the inner layer of the diffuser. The wood represents the empty volume of the diffuser.

There are very precise compound curves in it that would be very hard to achieve with sheetmetal. And to have sheetmetal as stiff as the carbon will be would require more than "sheet" metal and would be very heavy. Does Ferrari use sheetmetal for their diffusers? Does anyone use sheetmetal for a diffuser??

Re: Norad Diffuser (tony1)
I think $5k for everything is more than fair. Especially with the right tooling which it looks like you have. Can't wait to see this car run! Will this increase downforce at the rear at all? Maybe some added stability?
