"maintance required"
this is my first honda that i ever had to deal with a maintance req. i started my car today and i noticed that the MR flashed about 11 times after i started the car and then shut off. what could that be?
im 2k on my oil. radiator is cracked and will be replaced this weekend, but fluid is full. ill check all my other fluids 2morroe, im pretty suree they're all full too. so what can it be? i know when there is a problem it stays on. is the beginnig of a problem???
thanks for any help

if the 6th gens are like the 5th gens, that maintenance required warning is based on mileage preset i think. 5th gens have a manual reset on the gauge cluster that changes from green to orange to red, based on mileage and the last time it was reset. not sure how the 6th gen bases that signal when it comes on, but im sure a dealership or the manual will tell you
well i know on my 5th gen, its set by mileage, i believe it goes red every 3-5k miles, i haven't really counted exactly. on my 5th gen if you stick your key in the little slot in the middle of the cluster is resets back to green
yep it goes up to red and at red its like 7500 miles, in case people dont change there oil until they actually see a red light or indicator. which a lot of people will do, instead of using their craniums a little bit
I am pretty sure if its not a button and its an actual piece in the gauge you should be able to reset the ECU and it should reset itself. Or I also remember something about pushing the MR button holding it for like 15 seconds with your key in the "on" position but not running.
It is in your manual on page 60. To reset it
1: turn off the engine
2: Press and hold the select/reset button in the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch ON
3: Hold the button for about ten seconds, until the indicator resets.
It is a dummy light

very nice. I had to do it for my friends parents a long time ago, I forgot what was needed.
