NO. YOU DON'T HAVE TO.

It's personal preference really, unless you do a great deal of research.

Synthetic != always better.

Spoon radiator?!?

I would recommend using Castrol GTX and change it every 2000 miles.

many people recommed it but some techs say that you shouldnt. I personally do not use it on my R. But its up to you what you want to do.

What does that mean?

I'm asking WHY he thinks that because most people dont have any evidence or even good reasoning. It's another way for misinformation to be spread.

Then again, he may know something that we all don't know, he may be able to prove it, and I'd like to hear stuff like that.

I love and hate this site... its amazing to me that there is so much resistance to discussions and arguments. If we dont challenge those who make false claims and spread misinformation, this site would really suck.

like everyone said its preference. my ITR for some reason only loves Valvoline , just the reg run to the millstuff. anything else feels shitty in it . I never ran synth in mine and never burned a drop of oil or had any probs.

yea, mobil 1 is synthetic also, as well as red line... i have tried so many oils and i have found out that red line is the best of all (for sure, since it's damn expensive).
the mobil 1 is good for the cheap price...

i really feel it rev smoother and faster when using synthetic oil, there are tons of threads about this topic, please go to search (to this thread starter) and i just stop here

So first you say this, then you say what you just said above.

Search? LOL. I've read the threads. All of them. I dont need help with that, thanks.

I still dont understand 'the question' you posted, and now that you've added more info about your past experiences with oils, I still dont understand why you posed the question. It doesn't matter, i'll go away again.

WTF
Just so you know.. its know.. not now
I think if you change your oil on a regular basis it really shouldn't matter for a daily driver.

Advantages of Synthetic: Flows better at very cold temperatures, better resistance to breakdown at very hot temperatures

Disadvantage of Synthetic: Costs more

Your money, your decision.

I use 100 percent synthetic oil in all my cars...

so went you mean that you are running or use 100% synthetic oil , which brands come in to your mind . Because even doh it it says on the bottle synthetic from Mobil 1 or Castrol , even Valvoline there not 100% . Your options would be like Motul and Amzoil (just to name some brands)

heres a new oil on the market:

supposedly used by penskes nascar teams.

on a side note, quaker state synthetics uses PAO as their basestock. it shows up as 1-decene of the quaker state material safety data sheets.
