Just finished polishing my LS valve cover.....pix inside!
Well here it is. I didn't go crazy and spend 30 hours on it like some people. I only spent a few on it, I just wanted a little bling. And anything is better than what I've got on my car now, the paint's chipping in some spots, plus it's really dirty. What do you think?

nice, i need to get off my *** and polish mine, what thread did you use to guide you?

and as far as instructions? I just used my brain, i've sanded and polished a couple scratches on my rim's lips before so i had the basic idea of what to do.
First I stripped the valve cover using Aircraft Remover.
Then I sanded it down really well w/220 grit sand paper. You'll spend a lot of time doing this b/c this is when you'll be smoothing out the rough raw metal. Once you get everything fairly smooth,
Sand with 300 grit. Again, sand everything well. And when your sanding large spots, try to keep the strokes long wise w/the piece your sanding. Like dont start criss crossing.
Then sand with 400, then 600, then 800, then 1500. You could use other grits between there, like 1000, but that's all I had around so I just went with that. And if you have some 2000 grit, that would be nice to finish it. It would make the actual polishing a little better.
Then get some polish, I use Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish.
That's pretty much it. It's not hard it just takes time and a lot of elbow greese.
