So th only differance is the lobe profile? I take it the maual cam is more aggresive

VTec lobes on the Auto cams are smaller......the lift is almost identicle to the primary and secondary lobes. I know cause my B16 was from an auto....It had a flexplate to mount to a torque converter instead of a flywheel. I also swapped out the cams and springs in favor of some 99 GSR cams and springs. I took pics of the lobes etc......and indeed they are much smaller on the VTec lobe. Also, auto heads come with single springs on the intake, this further proves that the lobes are smaller or less aggressive. Im sure that a lot of B16 motors you purchase seperate from the tranny will be from an auto car.
Does anybody know how you can tell if it is auto or manual? Is there a way to tell by the stamp on the head? If there is, I can get you the code on that lil stamp on my head (its btwn the head and block on the corner. It looks kinda like a little mettal sliver with a code on it kinda sticking out from under the head.)
If the ECU is AT instead of MT does that have any effect on performance? I plan to put ITR cams in there anyways in the future (when I get my turbo setup). Bu tI have heard that GSR cams are betetr for midrange power...Any facts or theories?

The simplest way to tell even if the trannys have been swapped is to look at the throttle body. If it has 1 groove for just the throttle cable then it = maunal. If it has 2 grooves its an auto. Unless they swapped TB's but thats unlikely.
yeah there is a way im not sure how, but I think if you search a little you can find it
also to all of you who think that the manual cams are more aggressive, wrong. the auto cams are more "aggressive" on the exaust cam the intake cams are the same.

That isnt possible fr me. I dont have the original TB, I replced it wth a 62mm BBK TB when I got the swap
