Ick gawd, do a search in this forum. I keep forgetting his screen name but he's doing well into the 12's in an '02 (someone correct me on the year) with bolt-ons. I don't think that's typical though. I've heard of high 12's (you know, what 700hp Supras do ) and low 13's as the norm.

I'll post my times when the temp gets over freezing and the drag strip (which will be a drag/road course/AX track in the near future) is resurfaced.

Most of the tests by the major magazines come out roughly as follows for bone stock cars:

'91-94 5-speed NSX Coupe: 13.7-13.9
'97-04 6-speed NSX-T: 13.2-13.4
'97-01 6-speed NSX Coupe: 12.9-13.2

No, more likely, that's because of a difference in procedures. For example, the magazines always drive a car bone stock, exactly the way it comes from the dealership, with a full tank of gas. They do this so that there is a standard procedure, and you don't have variables from having one car with a full tank of gas, another with half a tank, etc. And this is why magazine test times are usually extremely consistent from one test to another, which enables one kind of car to be compared to another.

Most folks who go to the dragstrip do so with 1/4 tank of gas or less, and empty out things like the spare tire and the took kit in the trunk, etc. As well as mods, of course...

11.5 @ 124mph. Nitrous Express kit. One dead cylinder. 80% compression loss on leakdown.

I no longer have it. owned the 91 since '97. got rid of it last year.

There are lots of reasons for differences between magazine times and actual test runs. The most common one is, when most folks go to the drag strip, they empty their cars out of stuff like the spare tire and jack, and they make sure their gas tank is close to empty. The magazines leave all standard equipment in the car and test it at its curb weight, meaning full fluids. Those differences alone can make a difference of ~130 pounds, which can reduce 1/4 mile times by two to three tenths of a second.

Well, there is always a healthy mix of cars at the road race event and the nightly street racing.

yeah dude,
theres always the exception to the rule
and that guy that you saw that did a 14.5 obviously was either REALLY horrible at driving for some reason, or something was wrong with his car.

road&track tested out the nsx when it came out, and it ran a 13.8/13.9
something around there.

but definetely in the 13s

its not a 14 second car so stop worrying your little panties wet.
