rear motor mount inserts - installatioin (again)..... prothane this time!
What's the easy way to do it?
The last two times I installed ES rear motor mount inserts. It was just a matter of taking 2hrs to squeeze them in between towards the mount. They are softer than the prothane ones.
This time, I want to be in and out as quickly as possible. I'm also going to replace the mount AND install the prothane inserts into the new one.
Tips please?
I need an easy way, since I've done it the hard way already too many times.....

you gonna have to use a jack and jack the rear of the motor i beleive(or maybe it was the side mounts, hell i forgot).. i was lucky when i installed mine, the motor was out of the car.
but im sure lots of people on here have done it.

I would remove the two front/lower motor mounts, and try to tilt the motor forward to help gain access to the rear motor mount.

What I did was remove the lower driver side and loosened the upper driver side mount. support the motor with a jack under the pan( my pan is perfectly fine, no dents or anything, just distribute the contact point with a 2x4). remove all the bolts holding the "T" bracket, the bracket should be able to separate(split down the middle). then unbolt the 3 bolts holding the actual mount and it should come out.

i had to unbolt the lower fronts, and i think the dr side. jack it up, and unbolt part of the back mount from the block as well as from the mount, and they slipped in. but its been a while

you can also loose one of the side mounts to allow the motor to move more.. just make sure you have a jack under there to support the motor..

should take around 45mins for all three mounts.. less for non DC-2R chassis

.....I already have the inserts in the other 4 mounts (upper and lower). ES lower (including the rear) and Prothane upper. Now I simply want to swap the ES inserts in the rear mount with the Prothane ones. AND I'm swapping the rear motor mount as well (since I have a low low LOW mileage one here). Capish? (sp?)
I guess I will do as I have done twice in the past and loosen the upper mounts + remove the lower mounts, and jack up the motor + tilt it forward.....
