Snapped some pics during GC install (56k....go install some springs)
Overnighted from EKREV

Stock assembly next to the GC's and H&R springs on sale here:

This part sucked.... stupid spring compressor took sooooo long. I just ended up using a blanket and a bucket to pop em loose. Saves an hour or so with this method.

So pretty:

Even prettier:

Problems... rear LCA shock bolt. (note this is not the bolt) Keep count. (1)

Still counting? (2)

Last one (3)

I'm curerntly riding on stock shocks and will be getting the Tokico Illumina's. I was only able to install the front ones as I was not able to break the rear LCA bolts. I will pay for the rears to get installed when my shocks come in.
Thanks for reading. L8.

I'm not getting HPs I'm getting Illuminas. My coils are sleeved for Tokicos. If I want Koni's I would have to buy new coils.
I have tried PB blaster and **** loads of it. Did not budge... Don't have a torch.

what year is your integra? I had to go thru the same thing when I was doing kyb agx/GC install on my 98 gsr. Used pb blaster and I had no troubles..
you need a better extension or use a deep well socket on a breaker bar.
I've never had any problems with LCA bolts when I use a 2 foot breaker and a deepwell socket (or a snap on 3" extension).
There is a significant loss of torque when you use an extension like that.

if its seized in there for good.. not matter what you do... its not gonna come out... you'll probably end up snapping off the bolt head before getting it off... i've been through that night mare numorous times...

These are in my 90teg.
So you guys had no problems getting the bolt off with PB blaster? I'm trying to spin the nut loose before I take the bolt out. And the only way to get to it is with the long extension.
I should try using a deeper socket and it should come out eh? I will try it on Friday.

Go to Wal-Mart in look in the auto section for a 12V impact wrench, should be between 15 and 30 bux. I used it on my LCA bolts, 8 yrs old at the time, and it got them off no problem.
i ended up drilling/cutting the bolt out and replacing the bushing.
its gonna cost an assload to have your rear worked on. Just do it yourself... buy some new bushings for hte LCAs, get a cutter for your air tools, sawzall, or last resort, ***** little dremel... then get some heat on thsoe stock bushing and get them out, replace bushings and shocks and you're set

Patrick, as always, good info. I will pick one of those up tomorrow after work. But it seems you did not have any problems with the bolt? I have read that some of the guys on here have their bolts seized to the bushings, which kind of scares me. Don't I have to get the bushings pressed in if I decide to cut it out?
GEEezus~! -
More anxious to put those on then to worry about your carpet? -
It keep looking more dirty and dirty , scrolling down on each picture. AHha

The first picture is in my room. The dirty carpet is in the garage. It's nice and comfy when I lay on the ground to get under the car. Haha I did not notice until now but it does get more dirty as it progresses.
Man I run into problems all the time when Im modding my car; ESP the ones that NO ONE has problems with. My Teins went on fine. Maybe just shitty tools?
Try Craftsmen; and a good breaker bar I suppose! hth

I have the same damn problem on my 94 too, and i broke off the nut of the LCA using a wrench. I've used an impact wrench and it wouldn't budge, tried PB blaster and still doesn't work. Same thing happens to the front one, just seized bolts all over. Thinking of torching it will come out?
The smart thing to do would be to take it to a local midas and tell them to loosen the bolt with their air gun and then retighten it with hand tools. That way, when you get back home you can remove it easily. Pay them $10 bux for lunch and go home

Well the bolt is much more likely to come out w/o breaking if it's being subjected to constant impacts, vs. sustained high torque (like when you're just using a long breaker bar).
The 12V electric impact I used was very slow (1 impact every 1-2 seconds) but it did the job, which is most important.

I've done this before, I usually go in for an oilchange at some shop.
When they hoist the car up, then I walk back and say "Hey, since
you got the car up, can you do me a favor..."
They usually go for it.

Ground Control - It's like fancy ghetto rigging...
get some reall susspension set-ups!!!
i have a crappy set-up - and I paid only $1,200 for the coilovers and struts...
You guys paying like 500 for the whole set-up = GHETTO!!!
You get what you pay for when it comes to susspension... Don't be lazy - save and do it right...

Well obviously you don't have much knowledge of Ground Control setups. Now while coilover sleeves are not the best setup many times, especially on stock shocks, a few setups work very well. The best example I know of is Koni adjustable shocks with Koni-specific Ground Control sleeves and custom-rate springs from Eibach's ERS lineup. When going that route you have LOTS of choices to customize the suspension the way you want it, and the whole setup usually costs between $800-$900. I know A'PEXi WorldSport coilovers are about the same, but their dampers are not adustable, and you don't get your choice of spring rates. The Koni/GC setup has been proven to be a reliable and cost-effective suspension time and time again on road race and autocross courses.
How about doing some reasearch before knocking a particular product.

No ****. Take a look at what the National autox top guys are running. You see lots of GC setups.
Haha, coilover snobs. That's funny. Especially the ones who don't race them.
Toadfart: what spring rates did you go with?
Cheers,
Sean

You forgot to add a breaker bar and a lot of swearing.
Ahh the memories. It took me friggin 10hrs to change my suspension and I hated every minute of it. This is why I am going to be using the ITR LCA's
