No, I wouldn't. I got my R from a friend that "upgraded" to an S2000 and he now regrets it and wishes he had the R back...

I see S2000s all the time driving around town.. who wants something so common?

 

It's not a car. It's a roadster....this does makes a difference. I wouldn't go for such a trade. I don't mind owning s2000. But sacrificing my R to get one? NEVER!

 

It all depends on your situation. For me, I need a car I can drive all year round. the S2K with no traction control and being rear-wheel drive makes it a pain to get around when there's snow on the ground.

 

Keep the R!!! It's a limited edition car, plus no offense to S2K drivers, but if you roll in the S2k (god forbid) you become a paintbrush. The Type R is no longer available and more are being stolen and gutted for hybrid projects every day . S2K will be around for a while but the R will never be produced in the DC2 form again. If my R got stolen I'd buy the stook but only if I couldn't find another R.

 

You can't put track tires in the trunk - no way.

I have both an S2K and an R, I like the R better but its not stock and the S2K is, anyways if you want to trade your R for the S2K I'd consider it.

I drove a S2k and I like my R better.Just my .02,don't get me wrong it's faster and all that,but it was not all I thought it would be.

I have had over 2,000 miles of seat time in my brothers S2000. Both cars perform very well and the S2000 is just a little faster than the Type R.

If you need to drive in snow or icy conditions the S2k is not a good choice. There is not much room for trips and extra things either. The S2k is a sweet weekend car but the ITR is a better daily driver.

 

I want an "AND" life, not an "OR" life.

I owned a s2000 for about 6months and recently purchased a itr about a month ago. THe S2000 is a better sports car but has little daily driver in it. I constantly found myself not wanting to drive all the time because it literally can be a workout driving the s2000. The clutch gets tiring after a while and you must shift at least above 3- 4k otherwise the car doesnt like it. I like the itr better for now but If I could own the s2k without using it as a daily driver I would. It is a very nice car for the money. Both cars are well worth the money.

Drove an S2000 last weekend and after the ITR was dissapointed. Steering felt vague and although it felt quicker didnt have the happy hike when the VTEC kicked in like the ITR, much more linear. Apart form that the scuttle sjake pissed me off and they wanted £10000 + my car to trade, nope sticking with mine until i have the cash for a Boxster

 

I bet if you ask this question at http://www.s2ki.com you'd get everybody rooting for the s2000. Drive one yourself and find out what you think.

However one thing for sure is that your only car shouldn't be an s2000. That would be a PITA.

 

I just recently purchased a S2k and i personally feel the ITR is a better car. For some reason, i think the S2k is lacking of a 'pure' drivers car feel. The only thing i like about it over the ITR is the rear wheel drive configuration.

If anyone wants to trade up, give me an email, i want a ITR again, hehe

 

Must be all the sound deadening that the ITR lacks or the high rpms you have to criuse at.

Yea! I saw that vid! I also have the Hot Version Video showing the Spoon ITR go up against the RSR Altezza in a Endurance Race! Pretty Sick! Too Bad the Spoon ITR broke down right near the end of the race .. But The Cwest ITR Took 1st Place in its class! As long as one of the ITRs win over Toyota Its all good!
