hood pins on the R?
ive been looking at a lot of pictures of Rs lately with cf hoods, none of them have had hood pins. is it too ricey or what? i just got a cf hood, and personally i dont really trust my latch. just wondering what the deal is.
hood pins are ugly and racer wanna be but I don't trust any carbon hoods out there
because such crap quality so if you wanna it, safety first with hood pins.

The deal is that you have much more sense than the people who run without pins. I'm always amused by people who'll install a large piece of unpainted CF on their car, yet refuse to install hoodpins because they don't like the way that they look. To me, that's ricey.

Just one?
How would you decide which side to mount it?

Pins are a must for true lightweight cf hoods. And dont get the locking kind you need a key for. I've seen a WRX flap his hood cause he couldn't see that his lock pins were engaged.

Hood pins will save your hood/ windshield/ roof.....
Here are my whored up pics:

Sparco makes the best - they even have anodized colors if you want to match, stand out, or blend in.....
I have apc hood pins on my hatchback and they suck. Sparco =

Not a CF hood but it's very very light (Mugen), not the best quality pins, nevertheless they do the job just right!

it depends on the hood, my hood on my R is kinda iffy. so i used pins , i dont trust it . but it would prob hold. I didnt put them on the Ep though because the hood fits like stock and been driving for like a year with no pins and no probs yet
