Default d16a1/zc trannies??

I know that the transmission housing for the d16a1 will not bolt up to a d16a6 block 100%
and I know that a JDM ZC transmission will (but the jdm zc's are a little harder to come by)
What I would like to know is, will the d16a1 gear set fit into the a6 tranny housing?

I would like to make the si/zc hybrid tranny but waiting for a zc tranny on the cheap is gonna keep me waiting a long time.

AND, will the d16a1 differential mount into the si tranny case? I have a zc half shaft and I'd like to put it to use.

Thanks in advance

I thought the ZC halfshaft only fit the ZC engine. have you checked to see of the block is drilled and tapped for it, of if it even can be (IE bosses are there)

i asked this over on the old dseries.org board months ago...and MistaBone replied that the d16a1 is an oddball tranny and it wouldnt work. but i cant find the post cause the search is shitty/disabled on that board.

Exactly what motor do you expect to put in front of that, even a DOHC ZC runs like total **** in front of a DX transmission. ANd you want to put a HF 5th to make it even worse?

What do you consider "on the cheap?"

H Motors Online sells ZC trannies for $150 + shipping.

150-175 shipped is reasonable to me. I did email them, I'm awaiting a reply.
