Default OT?: Video of the Civic: screwing around with a dropped muffler

I'm going to have a straight pipe made from the stock b-pipe back. It's a good way to save weight and make noise (I miss the sound of an exhaust during a heel/toe downshift, and I'm tired of being the fastest car per dB at my local autocrosses) without spending much money until I can afford to put together a good 2.5" collector header/cat/custom catback combo.

Flybys are at the 3-4 shift, which is of course only 45 mph. The in-car has me fighting for traction a little, it's cold out.

Heh, luckily my old baby launcher doesn't fit with my Comptech bar or I'd be even worse.

Heh, I don't bother with replacing my hand when I'm screwing around. If I have a student in the car that's another thing.

I got the pipe made, should have a couple pics and maybe another vid up soon.

Pros: Quieter inside the car, no gas-chamber effect, looks like a factory pipe, saved a whopping 19 lbs over the stock muffler

Cons: It's a little louder outside the car than just the b-pipe since I used 2.25" piping, and a little boomy at cruising speeds, but my stock radio can still drown it out so that's fine. I also need to get some BBQ paint and paint it flat black.

2.25" straight pipe from the b-pipe back.

Painted with Krylon BBQ paint. The sun is bright so it looks shinier than it is.

My 3.5 year old stopped playing with his Hot Wheels to listen. He said it was "totally awesome!".

Sounds smooth! I too am running 2.5" back from the B-pipe, only I have a turbo acting as a muffler.
