fawk ebay cheapy coilovers...you are wasting your money. get some ground controls. http://www.ground-control.com
Dude, when your lookin for suspension upgrades to enhance the look and handling of your car you should never mess with the cheap ****...
Depends how much your looking to spend the safe route is to go with the Ground Controls from Eibach but if your wanting some autocross type coilovers TEIN is the way to go...

I got the SKunk2 coilovers and they ride kinda stiff but i think alot of the coilovers do. Just need good shocks with them and you should be fine but i suggest getting the ground controls or else spend more money and get the Teins
I say go for ground controls. You know the mantra...you get what you pay for. If you go for the coilover SLEEVES, make sure you match them up with a nice set of shocks. The way i look at it, for the price of ground controls, koni yellows, and a few for dollars you can have true coilovers like tein SS's. In that case i suggest the Teins. Just my $.02!

Why not ebay some name sleeves? SOmetimes there are good deals on Gound Control, etc..etc. but, Who says Gound Control is the best? ( I mean, isnt it all the same? Besides the spring rate differene? ) I see no different in ride comfort compared to any other. All rides feels the same~! These are marketed higher price, because of why? NAME BRANDS, and some company put money into testing each and everyone of them, for matching spring rate, etc...
Its just the thoughts that counts, i mean. Cmon. Does Ground control or Skunk Rides that good? NO! COilover/sleeves, these are pretty bumpy and what not. The more spring rate it has, the more ride comfort drops! Because of the stiffness in them.
Its all up to you.
High Spring Rate - Go kart feeling - BUmpy but fun turns!
Low Spring Rate - Smoother ride, yet you will lean more on turns~
Lots tend to tell theirselves that its smooth~ when knowing the fact, it still rides like........ ( your in denial ) if you actually can say, that something with such high spring rate, 400+ . And saying that its smooth?

**this is only if you dont wanna spend too much** no reason to pay too much for some coilovers........... i say buy cheap ones and then buy some good shocks it will give u a better suspension. **this is only if you

dont wanna spend too much**
if you are gonna buy some coilovers, why not get the ones that are excellent quality? why settle for the cheapy coilovers when you can get some ground controls? you wont regret. i've had friends who have bought the cheap coilovers and complain about the ride and quality and then spend some more money to buy some ground controls to replace the cheap c/o. after they changed over to ground controls, no more complaints...
Cheap coilover. Define it? Cost Value or Quality?
Im aware that all coilover reacts and drives the same, with the same spring rate.
The fact that people say "cheap" coilover sucks becuz they bump to much. The fact is, that also does the expensive Ground Control isnt smooth.
STOCK STRUTS will eventually die on you with sleeves/coilovers no matter what. The stock strut isnt made to handle the shorter load of pressure. Thats the main reason for crappy rides, because the stock strut dies!. People Upgrade coilovers yet dont upgrade struts. Using a dead strut will be very uncomfortable riding on. of course?
I would go "cheap" coilovers and nice setup of struts.

Also. Whats so bad about the quality? If you ask me. They all look the same!! Its just a spring and sleeves! Which are made out of the same material.

well, to everyone who thinks any coilovers will work fine, take a ride in a car that's equipped with really nice suspension. like Tein Flex, or really nice JIC suspension and tell me that its the same ride quality as ebay

The car I rode in w/ gc/koni had about 450/550 spring rates, and the ride quality was pretty harsh imo. Then again, the owner bought the suspension for auto-xing, not for lowriding around town. I'd have to disagree w/ the person saying ebay coilovers are the same quality as the higher priced, extensively R&D'd coilovers. Just because they are made out of the same material definitely does not mean that their quality, or performance is anywhere in the same ballpark. Could be, but definitely could not be as well.
Heres a noob question for u guys.. dont get mad.. but....
what are the spring rates that give u a stiff rally feel when u turn the corners and go over small bumps.. and what are the rate numbers for that nice comfortable ride. i want to have the low stance and i dont necessarly turn the corners at 40 cuz with my luck, theres a little hole right on the turn and i bottom out and break something.
so, what are the rate numbers for a stiff spring/coilover
and what are the rate numbers for a soft comfortable ride?
and im really thinking of just getting some ebays and koni yellows and using that as a temp until i can afford the real stuff...
oh and what do u guys thing about cutting the stock springs down to lower ur ride that way... good idea or bad?

Hey 91TEG-G2 what do u mean getting some ebay's? And as far as cutting your stock spring, go ahead and let me know what happens after a few miles...
Do what u gotta do, good luck

Comparing a $100 coilovers to $800 setup. Is just out ranged.
As I said earlier. Ride comfort, is all mostly with the spring rates. And of course I'm sure expensive coilovers are the best. But he is asking for a nice setup for CHEAP....

hmmm...ground control does alot of R&D on their suspension setups. each c/o setup is made specifically for each car. unlike the kits on ebay where one c/o kit can fit like 10 cars w/ unkown spring rates. honestly...spend your money wisely and do it right the first time.
regarding the koni setup/cheapy's...do they even have the koni specific sleeves for them to even work?
regarding cutting springs....very unsafe, would not recommend it.
